How long is the shelf life once canned? Thank you!
@dianadavidson719911 ай бұрын
Interesting. No mention of the existing microbial soil structure. This would be protected if you adopted a 'do dig' approach and chose to mulch your rows before covering with plastic. Moving the soil (not dirt) before you plant also exposes more weed seeds to germinate.

dandelions are great to eat as well i like to fry the flowers with a wet batter or use them to make what is called dandelion honey witch is different then the jelly but any why you use them they are good.

Hello! How long is this shelf stable for? I can’t get an answer online. I have a ton of wild violets in my area and have been picking them all day.
@rosedolch86372 жыл бұрын
Thank you! This is our first time doing it and your video really helped... Our row cover is black on both sides so I worry a bit that it could scorch the plants.. It'll be used on mostly peppers and tomatoes tho.

I am trying this. When I poured the hot water over my flowers they turned blueish color. Yours was clear. Is this ok?
@ourhomesteadadventureslear82022 жыл бұрын
The liquid will begin to blue as the flowers infuse the water.

Does anyone know what "original pectin" is? I bought SureGel, but concerned that this is not the right product.
@ourhomesteadadventureslear82022 жыл бұрын
Sure gel works well- just make sure it is not a “reduced sugar” product.

What if you like the dark blue/purple color, can you leave the lemon out? Or will that change the taste?

Did you use juice from a whole lemon?
@ourhomesteadadventureslear82024 жыл бұрын
MrsMamalook Thanks for the great question! We used a half of a lemon because it was a pretty big lemon. If you have a smaller lemon, you can use the entire thing. Here’s a link to the written recipe on our blog. Please let us know how your batch turns out. Amy & Chris. www.ourhomesteadadventures.com/wild-violet-jelly-recipe/
