Never liked the concept of hell in the past. As a long hair, I was constantly told I was going to hell. Now I actively want a lot of people to go to hell, prison...or Mississippi...

This reminds me of how I feel each morning when I awaken to darkness. The silence is palpable, thick enough to slice with a knife. I feel so alone in this vast universe, hearing only the sound of the ringing in my ears, or your gentle breathing. It grounds me. Gives me hope. Ensures me that the darkness will turn to light soon. The birds are an added bonus. I love it.

Oh my goodness! You went way back in the archives for that one! God bless you ma'am. That was back in Hillsborough, NC. My wife always wondered, "Well why aren't you in any of the pictures?" I was riding and taking those pictures. Thank you so very much.Enjoy this poem I wrote: Asheville… I Miss You… Where would I be, Had I not found you. I wore ruts in all the roads, Always looking for something new. I rode all the big numbers and small from one to ten. I had an itch to wander that few could understand. Between Greenwood and McCormick, Was a place called “Promised Land”. I was freezin’ in winter. In summer I was bakin’. Somewhere around Augusta, I went to Aikin. My travel was a miracle. On a simple two-wheeled machine. I raced tractors, mopeds, cars… County lines, city signs, and anything in-between. People can’t think it much of a deal… Spinning around on rough pavement. It was freedom to suffer… And free the soul from enslavement. The mountains aren’t for the weak. Oh, maybe if your municipality is secure… But venture out from that comfort… One must be pure to endure… Descend and spin… But it won’t be long… There’ll be a mountain… To make you strong. You know… you can't go far, Without a really hard grade. You’ll burn under the sun, And freeze in the shade. And… I miss you Asheville… Town Mountain, River Road, Ox Creek… Pro-Bikes on Merrimon… And fatigue that won’t let you speak. I was sleeping on the floor. I was bathing in the sink… Working fingers to the bone… Close to the brink. Running on empty and habits, Riding centuries and more. Returning to the shop And lying down on the floor. No… you don’t understand… What was way back then… It’s 2025… Take away 2 score and ten. Go Back a little more… You’ll see empty stores downtown… And sweeter souls that were Asheville, And cooler people that hung around. Yeah… I’m sorry that you arrived, After the cool thawed and disappated. It was a different world, And progress never waited. It was a very cool city. There was a beautiful sorrow. With tantalizing anticipation… For today and tomorrow. Asheville lost some luster, As the stores downtown became occupied. It would be a couple decades, Before that paradise died. Oh, I know… you think you know it. And for the young generation, It’s wondrous and beautiful, And worthy of celebration. Buzzard Rock… Craggy Gardens, Betsy’s Gap, Doggett Mountain, Spivey, Paint Fork, Paint Gap Hookers Gap, Walnut Creek… I chose the hardest mountains, The steepest grades… I wasn’t weak. It’s six miles up and 3 miles down, From Mitchell to Craggy… the Parkway’s 355 to 364. And it’s 25 more before I can dismount, And fall on the floor. I can go to the guardrail now, Near the spring from where I drink. I can climb to glory or descend with splendor, And all I’ve gotta do is think. Those there today have no idea… Yes, the Parkway is pretty with sunsets sublime. But for the true Asheville that lives in my soul… You’ll have to travel back through time. The top of the mountain, Is where the sky and God embrace the earth. And it was at these altitudes with these attitudes, That I was revived, reincarnated, and given rebirth. Michael Davis 01-30-2025

So this means if I smoke... I cannot follow Jesus?
@TheBikingDude5 күн бұрын
No... not at all. I'm smokin' a cigar. Folks have spoken against smokin'. Im just comicly repeating nonsense as i nonsensically smoke a cigar. We are at the mercy of God and God's grace. 50 years I was smoking cigarettes in Vietnam while dodging bullets and rockets. People might say that I'm not a good example to young people. I'm not. Jesus is the example. I burn some tobacco. I walk outside... I light a cigar... I change my mind... I play my harmonica or sit quietly... I might send a picture of me and my cigar to a fellow smoker. Puffing on tobacco can change your mind and cause one to reflect on so so much. If we don't take time to ourselves in a way such as this... im not sure we're really free. No sir... I have no opinion of whether you should smoke. I have no opinion about consuming alcohol. I live with pain every day. Drugs doctors prescribe give me diarrhea or the opposite. Because of the opioid addiction scare - some pain meds that relieve pain are no longer dispensed... I disagree with the suspension of opioids
@TheBikingDude5 күн бұрын
@johnstarter777 My comment was shortened due to a mistake... i disagree with the suspension of opioids for all because I'm in pain and - I cannot become addicted to opiods - not easily - because opiods cause constipation. And I'm not into constipation... although... the way I run on in conversations... one might think I'm full of stuff. No sir. God bless you and keep walking with God.

"Fly Away we're??" Maybe you need to have a grasp on the English language, tolerance for spiritual beliefs... This is an ole time spiritual song. Some can claim it as "religious". I say it's spiritual. Because you don't have a grasp on good vs evil... or God... or Satan... historical spiritual songs - especially those with no intent but spititual awareness...I'd hold off on questioning songs or spirituality. I know - for a fact, there is evil and an evil entity in this world. I was in Vietnam over 50 years ago, and lies still rule. The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore, God sends them a strong delusion so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

New Covenant Warnings Hebrews describes something far better than the old covenant: the new covenant (Heb 8:6-8). The Baptist preacher says the old covenant was inadequate, but the new covenant requires Christ, and is better in most every way. Be careful before you get robbed. You say, “What’s wrong with the new covenant?” Nothing, if you are a Hebrew whose salvation is incomplete, ignorant of the mystery, and waiting and laboring to receive your promised blessings in an earthly kingdom. Know ye not that, if you believe, you have atonement now (Rom 5:11), forgiveness now (Eph 1:7), salvation as a present possession (1 Cor 1:18), a completed position in Christ (Col 2:10), and have all sufficient grace right now by the gospel (Eph 1:3; 2 Cor 12:9)? The new covenant is promised salvation for Israel. Since their covenant has not yet been complete, Israel’s salvation is incomplete today (Heb 8:11-13; Rom 11:25-27). Their forgiveness, grace, day of atonement, and complete salvation provided by Christ is yet future (Acts 3:19; 1 Pet 1:13). Is the new covenant better than the old? Yes, in that it requires Christ. Is it complete? Not yet. If you are put under the new covenant it robs you of your complete standing and present possession of the unsearchable riches of God’s grace (Eph 3:8). When you accepted new covenant teaching of the Hebrew epistles for the Christ it taught, you didn’t know what you were getting into. Forewarned is forearmed. You need something better if you want to possess complete and finished salvation now.
@ishiftfocus176921 күн бұрын
Things Excellent Paul prays that the Philippians would “approve things that are excellent” (Phil 1:10). This is what you need to do before you accept any covenant teaching your pastor tries to pull over your eyes. What is better than the old covenant? The new covenant. What is better than the new covenant today? The mystery of Christ excels where we find the dispensation of God’s grace offered freely to you. The church today is not operating under Israel’s covenants which are either inadequate or incomplete. If you are saved by the gospel of Christ today, you receive salvation now, freely, by grace through faith in the blood, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and all the unsearchable riches that come with that according to the mystery. Why contract for something you already have for free? Don’t let anyone beguile you of your reward with talk of shadows and types of Hebrew prophecy or judgments according to Israel’s laws (old or new). “Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.” - Col 2:17 You are in a mystery Body, not a covenant. If you are saved today and have the unsearchable riches of God’s grace be careful of being robbed of your riches by signing up for one of Israel’s covenants.
