Do you know what it means wjen the splitter is pushing into the wood and not splitting it...doesnt happen on all my pieces but it does happen on some...these are pieces that are split already that I'm splitting more for kindling.

I just purchased a polaris power angle plow for my ranger 1000. Very simple install. Everything seems to be the exact as in this video However, when I angle it as far as it will go to the right, the cylinder is stoked completely out and the blade is straight. When I take it to the left, the blade runs into the reservoir. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks

Would be interesting to see if you could hook up the two arms to a stationary bicycle wheel.

Good to know that 4Patriot is good other than lacking meats. No eggs either iirc… thanks for the review!!

The thing I’ve noticed about Mountain House is that they have meat as an ingredient while most others don’t. Peak does and it’s more expensive.

Only wish I could find seal kit for it. Front seal leaks hydraulic fluid now after a few years.

Peak Refuel seems to the best I've tried so far. I found Mountain House to be quite salty. I haven't tried 4 Patriots, but it looks like it's a typical high carb storable food. I have tried Readywise though, and that stuff will never enter my mouth again.

If you put a piece of 2x4 under the tire it’s easier to install. The 2x4 should be slightly less than the width of the tire. 🤓

I think you said, your from the midwest? And I see it is from a year ago . So do you help others build this? I'm an old lady, but share property with another person. and he chooses not to spent any money towards something like this. Could you help me with something like this? For an inexpensive price? So, I am looking for something around $5000.00 ? We have electricity, no running water.

Why in the world would anyone in their right mind buy this? Get a splitting maul.

This thing is crazy. An ax, and splitting wedge with ear plugs is by far cheaper, faster, and easier to carry and does not have hydraulic seals that can fail. Children and women can use this, but they would be better off with a splitting wedge. They will struggle with loading the tray or moving the machine.

I have a full power splitter. I bought one of these because I had never seen one before and wanted to try it out. I use it to entertain children because it’s something they can do that has big results that they can see. I believe it’s really good for their self esteem. They really enjoy it. As safe as it is I always insist that they wear safety glasses. Without actually telling them it helps them to grasp the concept of “force multiplier” which if you think about it is how nearly everything that humans do works.

I bought one about a year ago, kept it in the garage, safe from the elements. It worked fine for a week or so, then the cotter pin broke. They gave me a new one and, now, a bit less than a year later, it has given up the ghost. Appears the seals have given out. It doesn't work. Avoid....

I pulled the plow back manually as you did. The little foot folded up, and the plow mount fell on my toe. Steel toe boot or not, keep your feet clear. Lesson learned. Fine review.

That is a torch! If you just need an effective fire sustainer/starter not to include a form of ignition, then dipping a cotton ball into charcoal, lighter fluid, and then dipping that cotton ball into molten paraffin wax ends up, creating a pretty shelf, stable and contained fire sustainer that will burn for about 11 minutes for one single cotton ball. I stored them in a pill bottle and have them in my camping gear. A light rather easily with a match or a lighter. In fact, I have started using cotton balls dipped in lighter fluid as my charcoal chimney starter. Two cotton balls soaked in charcoal will start your charcoal up no problem. Even damp charcoal will ignite. In preparation time is almost zero as I just keep a pill bottle that I can put to cotton balls in, and then I add lighter fluid to where I see it starting to collect at the bottom of the bottle. Remove the cotton balls light them up and place the charcoal chimney on top and about 25 minutes later you’re good to go.

I don't understand the point of the readywise. Seems like just overpriced Knorr bags minus the flavor.

When I was younger and a more or less active backpacker, I preferred Backpackers Pantry. I thought they tasted the best but BP was and remains more expensive than Mountain House. That said, MH makes good stuff that is tasty and edible. My emergency stache has a mountrain house bucket, some 4 patriot 3-day kits that were on sale and and one or two ready wise buckets which were also on sale.

4Patriots makes more sense if you are having to rely on emergency food while bugging-in whereas Mountain House makes more sense if you are bugging-out.

I have mine being delivered on thanksgiving. I was debating between this and a pro R and after seeing how Offroad capable these can be with just a $300 Lift kit and some bigger tires, I went with the northstar and I can’t wait to test it out! Also I wondered what that middle plug was up front, so thanks for the clarification that it’s a trickle port that’s a brilliant idea idk why they took so long to have one of those
