Awesome ,, looks great. ,, an inline filter for your propane line is a must for your Mr. Buddy Heaters and water heaters. Cheap but it will save you from having to buy another heater. Easy screw on application part also. Saves a lot of headaches and problems.

Beautiful job! Only thing I’d have to add for myself is some towel rods and or rings to dry out towels perhaps under the counters for bigger towels. Also a small portable washing machine might be a nice addition in the future. They have some that would fit under the counter and just drop the drain hose in the shower pan.

All kidding aside, you did one hell of a fine job on this project. It's beautiful!! The only thing missing from the book rack is a copy of my book, "The Indomitable Patriot: 160th S.O.A.R., the Night Stalkers." Keep up the good work. Nice work. Personally, I would have turned that stained glass pic into a window.
@LifeintheNorth4024 күн бұрын
Yeah, it already came with the existing windows with screens framed in for those sizes, so I didn't really want to have to do any framing and changing for the size. Plus that glass isn't necessarily weather tight and we're in a pretty good four season climate I love your thought in comments though, please like and subscribe if you enjoy our content

Wonderful build, you probably already know but the wire size on that inverter is not adequate for anything large like a hair dryer, also I would put in the control box as the humidity will kill it

I have an offgrid cabin up in Montana. Watching your videos for a different perspective and good ideas. Fantastic videos, you guys are awesome. You gave me some good ideas so I figured I return the favor and share a few things I’ve done to my bathroom. If you ever have an extra 5 grand laying around and want to upgrade your toilet. Check out the cinderella freedom incinerating toilet. I run it off of a 50lb or so propane tank and it lasts a long time. I did the composting toilet(bucket) for 7 years and hated it. It is a game changer. No water needed. Doesnt need much power and is 12 volt, no wasted energy running an inverter. Also the ecojohn incinerating toiled is horrible. Remember every appliance that runs off natural gas can easily be converted to propane with a few 5$ orphices (no idea how to spell that). I have a cloths dryer and cooking stove I converted from natural gas. Just ran my washing machine drain underneath the house with a pvc pipe that has a bunch of drain holes in it. Use the meyers biodegradable detergent. Same brand you used for soap in this video. A cheap awesome looking countertop for a kitchen or bathroom is epoxy. I used plywood for the countertops and mixed in a white pigment to the epoxy, then drizzled on some black, and blended in the black. Have a propane torch to pop the bubbles. Self levels and really does look like granite. Only gripe I have is they tend to stain, which the internet lies about. Also no hot pans.

Very cool! Sounds great, good job! We may end up upgrading the toilet option over time. I will check that toilet out! We appreciate your comments and your viewership so much! FYI I lost two of those water heaters when a freak cold snap hit us and burst the copper lines inside the heater itself. Even with water moving and a heating cable on the pex inlet it still was not enough. They were inside ax well.
@LifeintheNorth407 ай бұрын
I read in the instructions that that’s obviously something that can happen. I winterized it this last fall and haven’t used it since getting ready to go fire it up soon and I’ll see how it goes. Thanks for your comment and tip please like and subscribe if you enjoy our content.

The only thing I saw that I would not do is box that vent fan in so permanently. Those things are good for only a few years before they burn out. You want to make replacement more easy.
@LifeintheNorth408 ай бұрын
That’s a great point you are correct. It’ll be a bit of work if and when I need to replace it I guess I’ll have to cross that bridge when I come to it. Good catch thanks for watching our channel. Please like and subscribe if you enjoy our content. Thanks again.

Is that a composting toilet or no?

No it’s a porta potti. Check out the video we did reviewing it and why we chose it. Off Grid Bathroom: Electric Thetford Porta Potti 565E Curve kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKqslKV4nLWFpLM

@@LifeintheNorth40 Thanks. Composting toilets can be way too much hassle for what they're worth, but if you do any gardening/small-scale farming, it might be good for some people. Not sure how good your growing season is in the North 40, but if you're on or close to the west coast you're already blessed with rich volcanic soil anyway.
@LifeintheNorth40 Жыл бұрын
Agreed, we are in the Pacific North West. I researched composting, I didn't what to vent it and this will get sporadic use so this was not only cost effective but practical for our use.
@Eidolon1andOnly Жыл бұрын
@@LifeintheNorth40 That makes perfect sense. I used to live in Camas, WA and been all over the PNW and I wouldn't have done with a composting toilet in your position either. Thanks for taking the time to reply. Take care.
@Eidolon1andOnly Жыл бұрын
@@LifeintheNorth40 Oh, one more thing I forgot to ask - did you do any research into a composting toilet when you were planning this bathroom, and if so is there one which caught your eye that you might recommend? After living in Camas, WA I moved out to the desert just outside of Las Vegas, NV and there's no soil to speak of out here and the sewer bill went up, so figured I could kill two birds with one stone by going partially off-grid with such a system. Kind of already began collecting gray water for my meager vegetable garden, but some things like the showers and toilets are still draining to the sewer, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
