Thanks for your comments. I really don't want to change my m2 hybrid. I hit it too well. My only thought was to upgrade the shaft to a new Ventus blue because it is rated so well.

I think if you hit it well already then I would keep it the same. The ventus blue shafts are great, my driver is ventus blue. But if you have a club that is working I wouldn’t change it. 👍 Perhaps if you really want to try it, pick up another M2 head and then put a ventus shaft in it and see if it does improve the club for you.

I have a m2 3 hybrid. Would you recommend putting a ventus tr shaft into it?
@Acsgolf
@Acsgolf 2 күн бұрын
Depends on the cost really. If you can pick a ventus tr shaft up for cheap then perhaps, as they are very good. However the stock shaft in the M2 isn’t bad at all, it was just that the regular was not right for me. Perhaps an option would be to sell the M2 and then pick up a sim max hybrid with a ventus shaft if looking to play ventus. As I imagine with the income of the sale, that would be cheaper than replacing the M2 shaft. Personally I would go for that option as the sim max is an amazing hybrid. Let me know what you decide.

I have not actually tried the 5 wood as only got my hands on the 3. I can imagine like most fairway woods, you will get the same performance across the line. So will still have decent distance, forgiveness and easy to launcher. Even easier to launch as a 5 wood so you have a nice loft. If you’ve liked the reviews of the 3 wood then you should like the 5 wood. If you go for it let me know how it goes.

I have a set of LTDx one-length because I needed consistency. Do you want your 5-iron to go 10 yards longer and end up in the rough or 5 yards shorter in the middle of the fairway? Problem with golfers in general is that they are so traditional and locked into "same-old" that if you moved their forks 10 degrees to starboard they'd stave to death.
@Acsgolf
@Acsgolf 14 күн бұрын
Glad they work for you so well. I do agree consistency is better than distance. For example I know I can change my driver and get more distance. But there is no point being 10 yards further in a bush rather than being 10 yards back on the middle of the fairway. 😂 What is the top of the bag look like for you then? My main issue with one length irons is the potential gap they can course at the top of the bag.

After watching all the KZbinrs raving about Cleaveland golf clubs I decided to buy the Hywood 3. I was so excited that I would be able to launch the ball high and my problems will disappear! Sadly it’s one of the worst clubs iv ever bought and it does not launch the ball! My 5 wood which I have a problem to hit consistent and launch the ball high is far better! So disappointed and I should have done the extra mile to go and try it before my purchase!
@Acsgolf
@Acsgolf 17 күн бұрын
Sorry to hear that. All the Cleveland stuff I have tested is great. I even have the Hywood 4 in the bag right now. However with all clubs some work and some don’t depending on the person. One thing to look out for though is the shaft in any club. I have the same issue as you that I don’t launch the ball very well. Therefore I tend to go for a shaft with quite a flexible tip as this helps with launch. Also another option to try is if you play with a stiff shaft normally, then try using a regular or softer shaft with a 3 wood. This will help launch but also be aware could increase spin so would need to find a happy medium. But it’s what I do with my 3 wood. Have ventus blue shafts through the top of the bag but with the 3 wood which I can struggle to get in the air I have a regular shaft rather than stiff and it really helps me launch it. 👍 Hope the above helps.

@Acsgolf
@Acsgolf 22 күн бұрын
So just measured the head weight of both clubs and interesting I was wrong! So even though I thought the fly was lighter than the darkspeed, it is actually heavier! So the fly weighs 199 grams while the darkspeed only weighs 197. So the fly actually had a heavier swing weight, which actually helped me increase the club head speed. Even though I felt it was lighter. Having that extra 2 grams clearly made the club as a whole more balanced which helped with performance for me. It really does show how performance can change when you are only changing a few grams. Will look into getting a heavier weight for the darkspeed and see how that is affected by it.

Does the Dynapower sit more ‘open-faced’ at address? A club at a similar price point, the Cleveland Halo fairway wood, is a great club but when it’s behind the ball I ALWAYS think I’m going to smash it hard left!! Which of course means that I almost invariably do! Think the club, for me at least, needs to sit straight or open, for me to be able to fully commit to the shot. @Acsgolf
@Acsgolf Ай бұрын
So taylormade have changed the name of the clubs over the years. So for the sim2 you had three clubs, the sim2, sim2 max and then the sim2 max d. So the sim2 was the low spin version, so equivalent to the Qi10 Ls. The sim2 max is the middle of the range club, mixture of distance and forgiveness, so equivalent to the qi10. While the sim2 max d is equivalent to the qi10 max, both are the most forgiving driver in the line up. So it is right having the sim2 max vs the Qi10. Wouldn’t be a fair fight if I had put the sim2 max vs the Qi10 max. 👍

But in mid 2022 I saw someone using a Yes Hanna on KZbin and I loved the sound of it. So I bought one and it’s been in the bag ever since. I love the sound/feel of it. And it’s one of the only putters I’ve ever tried where I can roll really long putts right up to the hole. I rarely ever 3 putt with my Hanna. I will add, that even though it’s a 35” putter, I have a 17” Winn CB grip which makes the overall putter feel much heavier than with a normal grip.

Great review. Going to look into this, living in Dorset I know those isle of purbeck winds only too well at my home course hence my interest in this club. 200 carry out of 129mph are some good numbers! Vs. a 3 wood, Would you recommend this club in the winter though for when it’s all boggy ground but still windy? Also how much club speed do you need to unlock this club? I swing driver 100mph - 105mph with club head speed being 150-155mph. Have no issues launching my 3 wood as well off the deck
@Acsgolf
@Acsgolf Ай бұрын
It’s a difficult one, as this is the perfect club to help keep the ball below the wind but in winter with that lower ball flight you will loss distance as you won’t get any roll out. But yet if hitting a high 3 wood into the wind then you’ll be loosing distance anyway. What does your bag look like? Could you get a 2 iron and a 3 wood in the bag? Be handy to have a 3 wood when hitting with the wind to maximise distance and then the 2 iron when hitting into the wind. Regarding the swing speed, you’ll have no problem using this club as definitely have the swing speed for it. Just make sure you get the right shaft to maximise performance. 👍

@ thanks for the reply mate. Top of bag set up is driver, 3w, 5w and 4h. Because the 5w is that low spin mkt cannon from Srixon 😂 which creeps up to my 3 wood and the 3 wood is close to my driver. I can hit my 3 wood really well but 5w is much easier off the deck and then I’m really working hard on my driver to the point 3 wood is really in the middle of both which causes indecision on the course. My home course isn’t long though - good par 5 drive is either too close for a fairway into the green or surrounded by hazards. I use my 5iron for the wind cheater off the tee but there’s some holes it doesn’t get far enough with roll (rolls for miles in summer) but 3 wood or driver is too much club and 5 wood gets eaten up in the wind. I can flight the 3 wood down as well though. Maybe I’m just trying to talk myself into getting a new club 😅 But hopefully that helps, sorry for the rambling essay! This spot in the bag is so tough to nail down.
@Acsgolf
@Acsgolf Ай бұрын
@ haha I do love the srixon woods because as you say they do go miles! Is your 3 wood adjustable? Perhaps if it is make it a 4 wood, little bit easier launching off the deck and then still go a mile. I use a mizuno st-max 3 wood but have it set as a 4 wood loft and works really well. Then you can take the 5 wood out and put the 2 iron in. I definitely think either way keep the 3 wood for winter and swap the 5 wood out for the 2 iron. I tend to change my bag for winter and summer. So used to have a 3 wood for summer and then a 5 wood for winter to get more carry. But now just adjust the mizuno 3 wood. Also you can never have too many clubs! 😂 Let me know what you decide to do.

@IronDrummer91 Ай бұрын
@@Acsgolf Honestly that Srixon is my favourite club in my bag at the moment - first time I hit it was 20 yards carry longer than my previous 5 wood, can't even imagine how long the 3 wood variant would be. Adjustable 3 wood indeed, I have considered lofting up the only thing is it closes the face too much and I'm plagued by the left miss (over draw). Kind of wish the Srixon was adjustable so I could get to 4 wood with the open face (of course the 2025 one looks to be :D) - that said I’m still convinced that it’s a 4 wood in disguise with the distance height and lower spin Yeah too right! - more clubs can give different options for different courses and there are some days where it's fun to switch it up when it's the same course you play at regularly. Anyway thanks for the advice, will look out & try some driving irons!

What are u doing reviewing with that swing... 150 ball speed wirh your swing speed....hhmm doubting it
@Acsgolf
@Acsgolf Ай бұрын
Those are the figures I get down the range. I also make sure I try and use the same range each time so that the club testing is the same throughout. Also a 150mph ball speed is normally around 100mph swing speed. I average 98 normally so not far off but can get over 100 from time to time. Even registered 107mph this year. So it’s those swings which help bump up the average and helps me get that 150 ball speed on average normally.

I have the Carbon and Titanium. I use the D9 since launch and its wonderful. Ill have to say the Titanium is a rocket fairway finder for me. The carbon tend to fade to the right for me. Right now since I have both regular and stiff flex shafts on top of 12&16 gram weights Im playing with them.

That’s good and lots of options to adjust the clubs to how you want them to perform. They do make good some really good clubs at the moment Wilson and I am very much looking forward to the new line up coming out next year. Also managed to get my hands on the carbon driver so review of that is coming out soon. Small snippet for you, I loved it. Great driver with some good distance for me. 👍 Regarding the carbon you have. Have you tried lofting the club up? The reason is by doing that it actually closes the face and will becoming more draw bias so should hopefully straighten the ball flight out a bit. While the titanium is already a bit closed so will help you keep it straight off the bat.

I tried both these and the forged and they were great. Feel off the face is unrivalled in this class but for me P790 just pipped them on performance and wiped the floor with them on looks. If only Mizuno would ditch the Aiwa stereo plastic they insist upon gluing to the back of their JPX range.

@Acsgolf 2 ай бұрын
The P790 are great irons, probably the best hollow body irons out there. I actually reviewed the P770s from 2021 this year and they nearly went in the bag as looked great, felt great and performed great. Just wasn’t too keen on the shafts so didn’t. Regarding the back of the JPX line up, I agree. They definitely could do better. For example the mizuno pro line up is gorgeous so perhaps they could have sorted out the plastic logo bit as you mentioned.

Has anyone ever told you you have an extremely closed stance? I don't mean this as a criticism - you're a far better golfer than me.
@Acsgolf
@Acsgolf 2 ай бұрын
You are correct. So it was actually created during lessons. Basically I have really bad mobility, too much rugby when younger. So by having that closed position it forces me at the end to rotate my hips more so I get more power. Also means I get a nice draw relatively easily. Also if I ever want to fade the ball, rather than changing the back swing which is an option, I just bring the back foot forward and have a neutral stance. By doing so I get a nice fade, but not as much power due to a smaller natural rotation of the hips. 👍 I will add if you ever have a bad slice, give this stance a go as it helps to change your attack angle to get the ball straighter and even get the draw going.

Interesting. You appear to strike the ball pretty consistently, with good distance. Ideally I need to get a bit more hip action. I’m about one club shorter than you, and I’m also a 16-handicapper, although my iron play is relatively strong. Over the summer I was fitted for JPX 923 Forged, and I’m still getting used to them (previously I had old Mizuno MX-20s, which were more forgiving).
@Acsgolf
@Acsgolf 2 ай бұрын
@@markmark5488 that’s good then. I think if you have a good foundation around your irons, the rest of the game will come. How do you find the JPX923 forged then? Personally I think if I take the pros out that’s the clubs I’d replace them with or a ZX mkII combo of 5 and 7s. Actually have some jpx 923 irons already to test for the channel before potentially taking the plunge and getting a full set for myself.
