Nope you are guaranteed to open 1 basic, so if you only play 1 basic in your deck every game you will open that Pokemon, which has its pros and cons

I've been putting one or two in my list testing and I like it. And going first allows you to evolve first but going second you can attack and play supporters so it's up to the deck

My brother in Christ you’re on some 5 head shit with that Bianca devotion, also to answer your question, if your deck needs to set up, then it’s a going first deck (examples: Raging bolt, terrapagos, Charizard) if you trying to boom straight out the gate then go second, decks like ceruledge EX etc

I'd recommend cutting out stage 1s. The goal of Pikachu EX is to have your full bench set and, as you've witnessed, a bunch of Stage 1s make it harder to set up the bench. Personally, I like 2 Pikachu EX, 2 Zapdos EX, 2 Basic, 2 Evo of Basic which leaves room for items and supports.

I have been playing Venusaur ex for a while and when it gets going, them cheeks get THICC. There was only one way out in that game and it was to draw Sabrina. I would try to avoid having 3 bench mons that can be one shoted by the opponent in fear of that card. That made the match go from an almost secured win to an almost loss if Sabrina came home early. Good vid~

it's not ragequit, they forfeit because they quickly reach a checkmate point like if a mewtwo didn't get a gardevoir early enough or a pikachu deck didn't draw a pikachu ex after 4 turns they're better off not wasting more time
