After I add water into the boiler from zero, I got an error message saids “air”. Does that mean I need to bleed air out?
@themillennialhomeowner16619 күн бұрын
You should have a bleeder somewhere on the system. Mines automatic. Try unplugging the boiler and letting it fire up.
@DUI6139 күн бұрын
@ I followed your steps and combined with other e351 videos. 1) drained water 2) installed new water sensor. 3) adjusted and release water back into the system to raise the psi (since step 1 would have drained all the water out of the system with no psi). 4) once I hit around 13-15 psi, the system starts to pick up and fired up. 5) e351 is now gone! Your video is a real life saver! Haha…now my taco zone control is busted with no green light, it’s a whole new ball game now.

I also live in the northeast and just recently moved into a new home with a navian combi boiler. been having same issue with thermostat and I’ve never had radiant heat before. I upped the amount to 143 because it was cold in here. What should the temperature be? You had it on 180 F - isn’t that high? Help.
@themillennialhomeowner166122 күн бұрын
Up it some more. In these super cold days the temp has to be higher. Check out my video about adding the outdoor thermostat. It moves the temp up and down based on the temp outside. Lmk if this helps.
@lorimacfarlane121019 күн бұрын
Thanks. I did turn the temp up and it worked. Now I have to adjust it for warmer temperatures. Question- if you have 2 thermostats, one in main room and 1 in bedroom, if you turn the one down in the bedroom, will that help during the night while I’m sleeping? It’s just too hot in that room now.

I am installing a Navian 240 as a replacement to an existing boiler. My current system has a traditional water tank, and a circulating system ( which I am not currently using) The manual shows both an installation using the tank heater, and a circulating system without the tank. I called Navian, and they suggested I would have better efficiency directly looping the water without the tank. If this is correct, then should I use the current 1" supply which supplies the whole (5600sf) house, or feed through the current 3 1/2" returns, and use the 1" as a return line. Thanks, Bob

@@themillennialhomeowner1661 lol, no I think you were correct when you said air. When any gas (air, O2, etc) gets in the pipes, it can mess with the flow. Then you'll need to find and open up any bleeder valves, which are usually at the highest point in a specific heating loop. On a separate note, what was the ratio of water to vinegar that you used?

Good informative video! For a combi unit do you need to flush out both the domestic hot water and central heat exchangers? In other words do a one hour flush for each the domestic hot water and central heat? The central heat pipes are usually 1" versus the 3/4" for domestic hot water. So how is the central heat side flushed?
@themillennialhomeowner166110 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! From what I know you only flush the domestic side. The other side is a closed system

@@themillennialhomeowner1661 Hey, this is the first video of yours I came across. Good job and thanks for posting. FYI, in talking to the maintenance folks from the company who installed my system, they recommend a flush of the domestic side every year and the heating side every other year.
@Jallelab991417 күн бұрын
@@jshearman17 I heard the same, the closed loop system should still be flushed but not often because its closed loop and doesn't have new water running through it constantly.

Thanks for your video. Read some of the comments where people are complaining about not having enough heat. I have yet to read the manual but I'm sure there are set points and possibly what is called parallel shift to keep the supply water hotter or colder relative to the heating curve based on outdoor air temperature, to help compensate for heat losses of any building.

Good question. It was the same with my system for a while but then it never happened since. I just kept force filling. The “correct” answer by the pros would probably say it’s either a leak or some sort of bad part.
