Unless you have a sprayer, or intend to do more than one car, just use rattle cans. I've done both ways, the rattle can car was cheaper. It was also easier, faster, and future touch-ups were simple! I chose ultra-flat camo green. DO NOT SAND after painting. I made that mistake, so ended up respraying a fender. Also do not use those comfy handle things, that is why I sanded...and repainted. Total 6 cans: $36 i also used 4 cans of primer, but that would also have been needed with either paint.

Two things, one it's called a 36 minus 1, because it's 36 teeth, minus one of the teeth. Two, you have a cnc plasma cutter. Why on earth didn't you just cut yourself a 36-1 wheel with the appropriate holes for your balancer? Also, it's a balancer, when you cut material off of it, it's no longer going to balance and when you cut material off the opposite side from the missing tooth, you cut it farther out from center so you would need to cut off less material because of the additional centrifugal force farther from center. Though, in the grand scheme of things that's not going to make that big of a difference with the amount of material you removed and the application. Overall, great job.

So you attached the ram to where the stabilizer is mounted and then to the drag link?

Yes, replaced the stabilizer more or less. With the Y-link steering on the TJ, you can't connect it to the tie rod, otherwise you will get funky bump steer.

Great video! I used to have a 1975 Honda XR 75 and had to replace the timing chain. The process here was a bit more complicated but overall very similar process. On the XR 75 the engine had to be removed and crankcase needed to be split to get new timing chain on. I have a 2024 CT 125A now and currently dont plan on modifying it. ❤

I have a question for you since you have done this. I have essentially the same 22r blow through setup minus e85. I'm getting into the tuning stage with the Weber and I want to know how you open up the power circuit? I see you drilled and tapped that hole to access the ports, do you just drill those power circuit ports out until your numbers are good? I did a couple laps around my block and I was at about 16:1 peak while boost was coming on. Normal cruise was sitting at about 12:1 and I don't want to go crazy drilling out my mains since its not that bad pre-boost now.
@ozarkgarage

Yep, you nailed it. Gradually opened them up until it wouldn't go lean when boost kicked in. High RPM mixture can be tuned with the air jets.

@1122redbird

@@ozarkgarage I would suspect the performance of the DRZ is what people buy them for and I have little doubt they are great in that regard. But maybe this bike would be good for someone who does their own maintenance and is skilled with bike mechanics because I heard the maintenance is tricky. Also heard that because of this, a lot of people get this bike and don't keep up with it properly so you just don't know what you're getting if it's used. I'm sure you absolutely know how to take of this bike and will get great use from it. But for those less willing or able to do that maintenance, myself included, there may be better choices. I wanted a bike with efi and air cooling in the range of 200-400 cc and narrowed down to the klx230 and xt250, went with klx because it has a higher seat and 6th gear. So many great bikes out there and each with their own combo of strengths. Great review again though and I'll watch more of your stuff.

I used megasquirt in '01/ '02 on other engines. Micro came out, I believe, about 5 yrs later. I actually did away with the mega and went back with a portfueler after I found I had more power. The mega is a stand-alone and portfuler is a piggyback. Many people don't like a piggyback but mine is still working today over 20 years since installed. It's funny that the local dyno tuning shops can't figure out how to tune a portfueler, yet they push the mega/micro as the go-to systems. In my opinion, none of my local dyno shops know what they are doing. They've got famous for one-off builds and specialize in one thing. I did all my own tuning using a wideband and the split second program from 30 years ago. You have done more research than any of my local dyno shops. I respect people figuring things out. You don't really need a dyno for anything other than knowing what actual hp/tq you have. In my time, I've seen many 300hp vehicles outrun 500hp vehicles. Your channel is fairly new but stick with it and you'll slowly build subs.

Big bore kit is a good way to go. Just need a little adjustment in the fuel mixture. The bigger cam is a bad idea. With that cam your going to loose all of the increased torque the big bore kit gives you. A big cam is fine for a street bike. On a trail bike big cams suck.
