I restored a 2006 5.3 grand prix gxp on a budget . The car turned out like new and was driven 140 mile commute daily with no issues .Now when temperatures were about 70 f the car runs suddenly quits wont turn over wait 10 min turns over starts runs 2-20min same no start . If the ambient temp is 50 f car runs all day . Also the oem radio volume increases by itself and the info centre on dash goes dead for less than 1 second . The car has seen 13.1-15.7 v dc on display and on my dvm . I checked/ cleaned grounds to block and other parts of the car and added extra grounds fire wall engine . The battery and cables clamps are new .All the new extra grounds are routed through the oem current sensor near the battery . Checked and cleaned pins and connectors to Ecm /pcm in air cleaner . I forgot on info centre as it quit traction light and lost communication with throttle body scan PO601 check sum error. I replaced the gm connector to throttle body with gm oem connector kit, throttle body has been cleaned . So i am thinking its the pcm ecm . I am an electronic tech and have repaired some non gm ecu ecm used in industry as a Industrial maintenance tech and my own cars and trucks . Any help on this would be appriciated . Your tutorial on ecm 12345 is 100% beyond any thing come across at community college or on line

Thanks for making the video. I'll be replacing the plugs and coils in my 2006 Freestyle and this video gives me a huge head start. What cleaner did you use on the cylinder head?

Where are you located I need mine fixed I think. How can I test to see if my tach is messed up. I changed everything I was told to to fix the 2 issues which are the oil light has been flashing and the tach won't move. I was told to change the alternator and the 2 oil sensors on the motor and it didn't fix it.

Thank you for making an update video for this board. I have the same ECU on my daughter's 2001 RAV4 with only 76526miles, displaying error code PO776. Toyota did the diagnositics and confirmed the board 89661-42A30 was the problem but unable the assist further as board is discontinued. No attempt to help get it repaired. Your video is incredibly helpful

Just replace the 811600-4623 (it is a PWM driver) and check the soldering of the nearby schottky diodes on both sides of the board. When a solenoid issue is not resolved on those units no matter how many tests and checks I do, replacing the chip, or actually the 3 chips will fix it. I say 3 chips, because the one nearer to the terminal is the VVT-i driver.

What model years are affected on the 2.4L 2AZ-FE? I have a 2005 with 500,000mi with a new rebuilt transmission from Toyota. It was slamming into 3rd gear at highway speeds but not anymore. Thanks

My take on VW. Biggest problem VW has is the carbon on intake valves cuz of direct injection. Misfires points to carbon buildup. Injectors get carbon buildup also. Crankcase ventilator needs replacing every 70-80k. Camshaft Adjuster Magnet is another.

I believe if you connect a real solenoid on the test circuit, the wave form with a ditch in the middle of the wave form, will not keep the solenoid active to stay on, because it loses of voltage or current.

Guessing on waveforms of a solenoid control? Is just odd. It either provides current or it doesn't, no? Is the shift a pulse width modulation? I'm confused

Why not just test transmission with manual control to see if the issue is mechanical or within the transmission?

Maic, great work. Only recently came across your channel. Love it. Way back in the day I made custom controls for machines with single board computers and their interface boards. It was almost always the case that the information you needed was a line early in the manual, a line somewhere in the middle and a line near the end. Reading and research was always the key to make things work Love your approach and sharing. Keep up the good work and good fortune to you and family.
