I think a better translation of no. 3 would be "The light radiated from the stars of the night, the nightingale sang". :)

Anyone else notice that No.5 is like a fantasy on the melody of Scriabin's prelude Op.37 No.1?

I think in any piano music written before 1920, most of the chords should be at least slightly broken, it was customary, and it softens their impact. As I recall, it was Prokofiev, and the end of World War I that introduced square, block-chord playing as a norm, to do away with expression.

If the harp had developed and not the piano, then music like this would be for harp.

It amazes me that he knew also to compose in a Romantic style. 9:52 Octave Messiaen called Stravinsky the man with 1001 musical styles of composing.

Reminds me of Rah maninov, Skriabin, Pfitzner, Reger , Chopin, Joaquin Rodrigo, Joaquin Nin, Joaquin Turina and Shostakowich and the multitalented at guitar Felippe Pedrell and a opera by Manuel do Falla --- they all created the big current --- stream of Neoclasicism.

This reminds me of Rachamaninov ' style, Chopin ' style and Carl Czerny ' s style from Lieder und Studien for easy piano intermediate to complex level. I wish to fiind sheet piano music by I. Stravinsky to interprete myself from I. Stravinsky ' s composition because I love and apprecciate him because he îs one of my Guardian Angel and he cultivated to me piano techniques and he --- together with Dmitry Shostakowich are my principal main Guardian Angel, but I love U.S.A. and U.K. the most and western Classical Music and the most --- the ages of Baroque .

These skazki are so underrated even on Medtner's level. Both are wonderfull masterpieces, with rich rythms, textures and harmonies!

Me trying to listen to Roslavets or Shastokovich without the most brainwashed milktoast western liberals flooding my screen with history takes courtesy of American Intellegence agencies. 🇺🇸 Don’t worry! The red banner has left russia and its doing great! Thank you free markets! No more tyranny, thank you Reagan! No more poor musicians losing their jobs for just having friends that want to overthrow the government (we do a little tyranny). Real oppression is when you can’t make dissonant music you have to make Gayane and Romeo and Juliet GRRRR! i hate palatable music. (Ps i like roslavet’s music)
