Is this a nice one to put my 60´s Gibson T-Buckers that are fife times the value of the guitar?

I struggle with that sometimes. Not sure if I'd load up a $500 guitar with pickups that are $300+

@@davlavmusic7070 well, it´s because i have them, in a 50years old ibanez SG, that´s getting unusuable. Dimarzio Virtual 54 pro in bridge will definitely do all of what you want. I like Dimarzio Area 67 middle or a Tesla Plasma STS bridge in middle, and a Dimarzio Area 58 neck. You can go 58 middle and 67 neck if you want warmer in between sound and brighter neck.

I’m having the same issue with my TD. It’s been fine for years but now it’s losing punch and level. I’ll do some more research and I might take it to my tech see if he can sort it out if not, I’ll probably do the same as you and sell it. I’ll be very disappointed if that’s the case. What did you end up getting instead? Thanks for this post as well, by the way.

I’m in 2 minds whether to upgrade my ax8 for an fm9 or go for the qc. Your vids are helping me sway toward the qc so I thank you. Can you get a good Andy Wood tone from it tho? Thanks in advance
@davlavmusic70707 күн бұрын
I'm not an expert on Andy Wood's tones, but I believe that he's been heavily influenced by Eric Johnson and Andy Timmons. I've doe presets for both of those guys so you can check those videos out. In general, my opinion is that you can get great versions of whatever tones you want from either the Fractal or the QC. To me, my preference for the QC and Neural DSP is the usability. Fractal has more tweakability but I prefer the simplicity of the QC. I've done some videos comparing the two if you want to check those out.
@matteomidas6387 күн бұрын
Hi, great video. When I put an overdrive in one of my QC fx loop and can clearly hear a hiss noise. Obviously the more I raise the gain in the pedal the more hiss I hear. I've tried to match the volume (using the send knob) between the bypass/engage but the noise is always here maybe at lower volume. Probably being a line fx loop doesn't match well with the instrument level on the pedal. I don't know.
@davlavmusic70707 күн бұрын
Yeah, I think there is a level issue for going into the OD pedal. One thing you could try - a lot of folks believe in pushing up the global input level of the QC as a way of keeping the noise "floor" down. Maybe that would help. Honestly, I don't use drive pedals in the FX loop much - if I'm using them with the QC at all they just go in the front.

Hi! I’ve been fighting the urge to resist what may be another flavor of Kool-Aid, but the Quad Cortex seems to hold my interest. I have a Boss GX100 that I’m not completely satisfied with. You seem to really like the unit, I’m wondering if you’ve ever done a stock play through of the tones so that someone knows what they’re going to get out of the box. That information seems difficult to find.
@davlavmusic70707 күн бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by stock tones? Do you mean the stock presets that Neural ships the device with? I don't think I've looked at those much since I first bought the device over 2 years ago. But I use the stock amp models and effects all the time and they are great. You can pretty much do whatever you might want without ever using the captures, IMO.
@bysykler49597 күн бұрын

Appreciate this video, I keep coming back! Another question, do you know if I can chain pedals in the fx loop? For instance, I have a big Sky and an empress paraeq. Does it work to send to my eq pedal, and then into the big Sky? Or will I not be able to access them separately as individual blocks on the quad?
@davlavmusic707011 күн бұрын
If you chain them then you would not be able to access them separately. If they are midi you might be able to add some extra control that way but they would remain in the loop.
