I typically run some external drive pedals into the QC to use with captures on the QC. Is it possible to capture this entire chain (External Pedals + QC) with the Nano Cortex?
@davlavmusic70707 сағат бұрын
Yes. It should work exactly the same - just put your pedals in between the Nano and the QC .

Modulated Delay? There modulation built into a few of the delays types, but there's no delay specifically by that name.

My question...sorry it is a bit away from the subject. I always make the wrong decision....I wont be Capturing anything. I just want great sounding real sounding (recorded) amps . Warmth/feel of a tube amp...relatively speaking I will be using on board or bought packs.

It's the capacitors in the Epiphone that affect the tone; they are low quality. In my Epi 59, if you touch the capacitor, the hum of the P90's increases. Same in the 55 but not as loud. You can buy a set of capacitors for between 10 and 30 dollars. Gibson could spend about 2 dollars more per guitar for a much better sound.

This amp is my favorite model on the QC. Of course, I'm old. And Deluxes and Princetons are what I've played for about 4 decades. I like the Vibrato with the bright cap off - especially with the dual Amalgam IR's that you hipped me to.. For me, I just set the amp clean / edge and use pedals to cover the rest. But many thanks for putting in the hours to compare the settings. As always, I'm a fan of your vids and approaches!

I appreciate your effort and time doing these ! I’ve been going toooo deep into the captures market recently, bought all the amalgams and tonejunkies and I find I am never quite happy with my selections or cabs I pick, its overly complicated all the time, and I need to just get back to a nice clean, edge of break up, rock, heavy mixture of tones that are very simple to be a starting point of very minor changes in the future.

Since I was looking forward to using a digital amp to 'dial in a tone', I decided the SE CE was the best for me in their lineup after seeing this. Didn't think I would find one (I was thinking I would get used or a Yamaha) but I scored a real nice sounding one with a turquoise top at an absurd price by layering some sales on each other. The nuts discount paid for my amp. It's my first electric (I've played many strings, just not electric) and I am having so much fun with it, thank you for the help.

Apologies if this is too old. I stumbled across your video and at the end I wondered if you had covered the McCarty 594 SE. Now you commented on the slight thicker dgt neck comparatively. The McCarty has like a Gibson Les Paul '59 style but (and not sure SE line) but I think they make the 594 in a pattern thin profile as well. I wondered if you had tried any variant of 594? I own a 10th Anniversary S2 Custom24 that I bought new last year. Not many videos on it but spec-wise it's basically as close to a Core model PRS Custom24 than anything I've ever seen. Always dreaming of owning a PRS but could never afford a Core, top 10, wood library- I've never been more in love. Now I have been bitten and I'm looking for my next (budget) PRS for 2025. I'm kinda thinking Paul's or 594.
@davlavmusic70705 күн бұрын
I've tried a 594 in the store but never had one for any amount of time. I think all the SE versions of the 594 have the bigger neck. There is an S2 thinline version that has the pattern thin neck. And there's the Core McCarty that has the smaller neck, but that's the 25" scale length I think - not the Gibson scale length.

By the way ... I started playing seriously, in 1961. The guitar you are holding is the guitar Fender would be making if they were not making any other Strat models ... if that makes any sense. And Fender has always had a sealer on their bodies. I have the American Original '50s in blonde. It is a fabulous guitar. My maple board/neck is quite chunky, and it is wonderful.

That pitch shift behaviour is quite odd. Does it change settings or remember settings based on location? It's hardly remebering a previous setting for that location is it?

Awesome! I wish I would have gotten in the PRS game earlier. I just bought a DGT SE and absolutely love it. I find myself playing a lot longer than I would if I grabbed on of my other guitars. I did immediately upgrade to the locking SE tuners--it greatly improved it. I agree on the value of the resale of an SE-not cost efficient to sell. I’d put some new pups in (maybe Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers or Antiquity?) and upgrade the tuners and I bet you will gravitate more to it.

There is something I don’t get… why is the room mix option from the ir loader not also available in the cab block? Secondly - what is the room mix option? When I compare it to the regular room or ambience reverb block with the same settings it doesn’t sound the same… in my oppinion the room mix option sounds better. Almost like it was a room mic - which can’t be as those are your own impulse responses it is added to… Does anybody know?

input gain on 0db is a mistake
@davlavmusic70709 күн бұрын
I've seen varying info on this. I've never had any issues at 0dB and, I think, gotten pretty good results. What do you set it at?
@thegrimreaper75 күн бұрын
just set it as high as it can go without the signal clipping. When you go 0db or you lower the gain of the input stage you're reducing the amount of information and bandwidth the input DSP receives to process and change your signal. It also makes the input signal closer to the base white noise every digital/electric signal has, so it will effectively make your original signal muddier at the QCs input stage.
@thegrimreaper75 күн бұрын
Ghost Note Audio did a really good video explaining this. Give it a look if you want. Also, I've been using a couple of your cloud presets without knowing. Thank you for that, your presets are very nice (I really like the Andy Timmons one)
@davlavmusic70705 күн бұрын
@@thegrimreaper7 I've seen Ghost Audio's video and I get the concept, but my understanding was that he was referring to the use of interfaces w/ plugins. I would expect that a device like the QC (which basically is an interface and PC plugin all in one) would come optimized for an input guitar signal without tweaking the gain too much. In fact, even using my strat I can't really push the input gain more than 1.5dB without being able to get it to clip.
@davlavmusic70705 күн бұрын
@@thegrimreaper7 When you change your input level what approach do you use for then pulling the signal down to the original guitar level? Do you just drop the gain on the input block for the preset the same as you are pushing it in the global settings?

Since its a lppoer, its best last in the chain. Being last in chain makes it tough to get a strong enough signal for tuning at lower volumes. Especially if you opt to place it last in the effects loop. I've had to turn up the volume on my soldano 30 mini to be able to get the tuning function to operate at all. As a single button looper I find it tougher to use than my tc ditto x2. Im gonna recommend anyone who takes looping even slighty serious to hold off for a better dedicated 2 button looper. I bought it because it was small dual functional and inexpensive. I had to buy a 15$ line filter for mine because it was noisy as hell. Unusable digital noise with ac adapters just as bad with power bricks, one spot. It was best running on a battery, but inconvenient to me because I despise batteries when it comes to playing guitar. And it doesn't have a battery compartment being tiny. 6 months later I can say that I should have sent it back. To this day I plan on replacing it. But, it is still on my travel board. Good for the price..... I guess.....lol Good video, thanks !
