Thanks, surprised at all the leg bands, wonder what experiment whatever bird club/college is doing to have birds on them sometimes folks go crazy putting on bird bands just because they can fir no reason. bad as stressful. I've seen these col birds at Sandhook NJ. A friend & I rescue songbirds when they migrate thru the city, they hit the glass skyscrapers or fall to the cement, most do not survive. A recent youtube video shows us in Newark NJ, the video is named ( Volunteers give migrating birds injured in N.J’s biggest city a second chance ) The Raptor Trust made video named ( Window Strikes in the Business District ) of us picking up injured Warblers

TBH I'm not so sure. It's my first time when I went there today and seeing the red bands made me think maybe it's for science, knowing the possibility that NYC Audubon may be involved somehow. Although I saw a flock, only a few of them had the bands on them.

@@kazethebirder2852 Thanks, I know most like the bands, but since I've seen colleges doing it with birds hanging upside down stressed, I am not in favor unless some specific study ( I am not in the field, so I know nothing ) That bird in your film had a band on each ankle and a band by each elbow -- I know Parrot owners often run into medical issues with band rubbing legs raw or getting caught on cage edges and then remove the bands. But seems like everyone but me is for the bands - lol , maybe because I do not know enough and never had birds so maybe feels like annoying bracelets
