Didn't the romance between the main two characters take 8 episodes, not 5? Idk it felt very natural to me I was shocked she hadn't kissed him right before she comes back out of the elevator and does

I couldn't wait for it to be over.

I needed more space stuff and space ships. You only really see them land as scene transitions. And since everything else is castles and swords. Its basically game of thrones but instead of a group of horses running toward a city its a ship landing at a port.
@mihkeltroost876914 сағат бұрын
have you read dune at all? it has zero 'space action'
@ANTIStraussian14 сағат бұрын
@mihkeltroost8769 not action action. I want people in ships entering orbit and they are walking around a ship and you see space outside the window. If you edit out the ships landing and taking off scenes this show would be indistinguishable from game of thrones. They use swords too lol
@EyeHeartShantel17 сағат бұрын
I disagree that the romance between Helly and Mark is forced. The pacing is faster than the romance between Irving and Bert , but it makes sense because of what they’ve been through together. That scene when she hangs herself, the elevator opens back up to her being in innie form and she was briefly able to see that Mark helped her. Not only that, MDR as a group is in rebellion together and it’s a big and important moment to them in the short amount of time that they’ve been conscious so , it accelerates the bond that they have with each other as a whole, not just Helly and Mark. when people go through something difficult together, they become bonded in a way that is deeper and quicker than what you would normally think.

Great review, couldn't agree more. To add to it, I didn't like how similar and therefore developed the universe looked like only some decades after the Butlerian Jihad, but I guess that's a fault Brian Herbert's books? Idk I haven't read them.

@maximilianek795 yhat seems realistic to me, even though we went from horses to cars to space shuttle and planes quickly. I can see us dinking around in cars with handheld cell phones on 2150.

You absolutely nailed it about Tramell Tillman. This show succeeds in just about everything, and for the role of Milchick to shine as much as it does really speaks to how fantastic of an actor he is. He plays the character so well! Milchick is a bad guy, a good guy, a cool guy who just wants to cut loose, and an uptight guy who tries to bring order to the company. He nearly steals every scene he's in. And, considering the huge talent in the show, that can't be easy
@TheDazzler825 күн бұрын
Good vid! But disagree about your dislike for Helly R opening scene and romance with Mark, because I think you misunderstood them. The opening interaction is awkward on purpose, the very first line of dialogue is Mark asking Helly ‘Who are you?” remember Helly R is basically playing undercover boss so you the questions were designed to ensure there was no residual knowledge of that, also on a deeper level thematically it’s what the entire show is about, who are we really without our memories. Also the Mark/Helly “romance” seems inauthentic because in a way manipulated by Cobel to get Helly to become compliant, remember she allowed her to go off with Mark using the map to build trust and a connection in the hope she would feel less isolated, so while the circumstances were manufactured I don’t think the feelings were inauthentic.

Agree that it is the best, or at least among the best, season of TV ever, and episode 9 is probably the best episode ever - except for “The Constant” in Lost. Nothing can top that.

Severance is “cool”. It’s another in a long line of mystery box shows that barely reach a 3rd season because wall of the “important stuff” is front loaded.

Could not disagree with your nitpicks more but to each their own. I’m so hyped for season 2 I’ve already watched season 1 over 5 times not to mention countless theory videos, trailers, the sneak peak of the first 8 minutes of season 2 just released and every piece of video and many fan theories. It’s such an amazing show I just don’t know if season 2 can live up to the superb excellence of season 1.

The first time I watched Ep 1, I was annoyed at the drawn out initial scene with Helly... but subsequent watches didn't bother me, it seems like a good setup into this mysterious world. The last episode is fantastic, one of the best season endings of any show I've watched. Jan 17th can come soon enough.

2:50 that’s called the rule of thirds. The subject shouldn’t be in the center unless it’s a symmetrical shot. Everyone everywhere does this because it’s a rule.

Bad take on the first scene. It's jarring and unsettling, which is exactly how it must feel to be thrust into consciousness in a sterile conference room without explanation. And how can you criticize the awkwardness of the dialogue and Helly's annunciation and 2 minutes later talk about how much the awkwardness makes sense because these are all essentially children, mentally
@Applest2oApples5 күн бұрын
If they are all mentally children then why aren’t they throwing temper tantrums and potty training? Upon second viewing I truly realized how dumb this show is. It’s lost 2 - just a bunch of mystery boxes with no satisfying resolution. You will definitely be disasspointed

Also, she clearly slips from the handle which was supporting her whole weight. So obviously she'd fall over. And since barely a minute before she was obviously dizzy from waking up, I'd guess laying down for a few seconds would have felt nicer than instantly getting up again.
