so for an ozone generator I don’t need a venturi? can I just plug it in and put the tubing into the water? a little confused with the ozone topic
@JoeLewis142 күн бұрын
Hi Hector, the ozone generator does not have an air pump inside of it, but the fileted has the ability to pull the ozone into the water when you attach it to it. So, you don't been an air pump if you do it this way. Hope this helps!

Hey, I can't find any information about it on internet so maybe you know. I have Blue Spark SL and it's decent for me. One day while moving my stuff I dropped the mic (although in the original foam padded box) on the flor. Since then it works barely. The signal is very week, like -40db week on max gain but it works without any buzz and distortion. Could it be damaged capsule? I heard something that its possible that membrane is sticked to the magnet inside... Maybe capsule is ok but I should look somewhere else like phantom power inside mic?

@bobbyrogers28512 ай бұрын
I copied this build pretty much to the T and I love how it turned out, thanks for the info. One question (I’ve had a few on here already 😅) have you had issues with the water getting dirty quickly? Im using the exact same setup you show minus the UV light and mine is a 14 cubic ft. I’ve had mine running for almost 3 weeks, I plunge 3 minutes every day, and the water is already starting to get foggy. I may need to do some additional research on filtering options, cuz was hoping to not need to replace the water but once every couple of months. Any suggestions?
@JoeLewis142 ай бұрын
@bobbyrogers2851 Hi, Bobby! I'm so glad it turned out well! I would highly recommend getting a UV light. I tried using just the ozone initially but found that it works amazingly together. I was getting foggy water at first, but with both UV and Ozone together, my water stays clear for months. I provided the link for the one I have been using for several months below. My only recommendation is to keep the water at 40 or above. The UV lights seemed to burn out easier when it was too cold (probably too drastic of a temperature chat when they kicked on). Hope this helps! amzn.to/4eGLQhj

@@JoeLewis14 thanks for the feedback. So you recommend running the UV filter (via the link you posted) in addition to the Weipro aquarium filter, or, replace the Weipro aquarium filter with the UV filter? Right now I have the ozone generator air hose connected to the Weipro tank filter. So if I’m removing/replacing that with the UV filter, I’d just connect my ozone generator to the UV filter instead? Sorry for all the questions just wanna get it right. Thanks again!
@JoeLewis142 ай бұрын
@bobbyrogers2851 Hi Bobby, not a problem. Maybe it is overkill, but I am running everything shown in the video, in addition to the UV filter. The sponge in the UV filter isn't terribly fine, and I think it would be difficult to modify with additional filtering. That is why I am still using the Weipro 4 stage filter as well. The long and short is I would keep the original set and add the UV filter in conjuction. I still have the UV light and filter (two separate plugs) plugged into in mechanical timer, so it runs for 15 minutes every couple of hours. The pump and UV light start and stop at the same time. So, it is not continuously on anyway. Hope this helps!

I used pond shield over the aluminum inside. When I use the ozone my water starts turning yellowish. Is ozone pulling chemicals from the pond shield? Or do you think it’s somehow getting through to the aluminum?

My new Frigidaire finally got delivered so I can start this project! Question, the instructions that came with my freezer say not to use a GFCI outlet or an extension cord, which I planned on using both (I bought the gfi outlet in your link and a power strip), are there any concerns using both those things even tho the instructions say not to?
@JoeLewis143 ай бұрын
@bobbyrogers2851 You are definitely okay to use a GFI outlet. They mostly don't want you to use this in case it trips and could spoil your food. Obviously, we are not storing food here. Just be sure you don't have too many things plugged into this circuit, and you will be good. In regards to the extension cord, just be sure it isn't too long and can handle the amperage. The longer the cable, the more resistance, and higher likelyhood the cable will overheat and potentially burn. As long as it is a heavy-duty extension cord, you should be alright.

Didn't see the comment on aluminum interior not being ideal so I made mine with an aluminum interior chest freezer. It's true that the suction doesn't work and it's nit magnetic, so now I'm trying to figure out the best way to mount the filter, UV light, and interior lights. I'm thinking a strong water proof super glue but if anyone has any ideas on this they'd be appreciated.

Great video, Joe! How long did you let your Pond Shield dry before filling it with water? I’m seeing ranges of 24 hours all the way up to 7 days! I’m on a time crunch, thinking about filling with water after 48 hours of cure time. How long does it take for your water to cool down to desired temp?
@JoeLewis144 ай бұрын
Thanks Weston! I shoot for 3 days, but you will probably be okay with 48 hours. Once filled and turned on, I would say it takes about 24 to 36 hours to completely cool the water to your desired temperature.

Im using a gfi switch 3 outlet power cord as shown briefly in ur video. The inkbird utilizes one of the 3 plugs and of course the chest freezer is plugged into the inkbird. I always just unplugged the chest freezer from the inkbird. Is there a need for that grounded switch plug if i can just shut off the power cord with the gfi switch? If using the grounded plug can i get away with just flipping the switch on that to cut the inkbird power thus cutting the freezer power?

I'm using a 14.8 cuft freezer,,, that 110 gallons full. The Weipro filter/ozone gen in the link says 10-40 gallons tank size. I know it won't be full,,, but I'm guessing 65% to allow for my body mass when I get in,,, so will this item handle 65-75 gallons? Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think an overhang or cover is the best option. One of my buddies uses a tarp to cover it, pulls it off when he uses it, then covers it again. I advise against leaving it out in the elements, but this is probably a good option if you choose to go this route.

Do you need both the UV Light Filter and the "Large Water Filter" you provided links to? Or, would running the large water filter and ozone generator be okay? The UV Light Filter and the Large Water filter you provided links for both look similar. Thanks!
@JoeLewis145 ай бұрын
Hi Bobby, both are probably not needed. When I made this video, I had not come across the UV filter combo. So if money is tight, I think you can consolidate here. However, I would always have more filtration than not. It reduces maintenance frequency and ensures water purity for longer. But to you point, it is probably not a must. Hope this helps!
