So you have a demo video of the black Friday deal on the sinker mahogany and sitka? Good price. Just have a hard time buying something sight unheard or seen irl.

Hi Jeff! Great to see Your professionell work! A question: I bought a Martin HD28 two years ago. A black spot 7-8 centimeters has appeared on the soundboard top where I rest my arm. Normal ? Glad for an answer! Kind regards Peters Övik Sweden

Great Information. One question about urathane vs lacquer - if there's a crack in wood or other repair that requies sanding back to bare wood, can you make the patch with Urethane invisibile the same way you can with lacquer? I guess the question is whether a urethane patch "dissolves" and blends with the original finish the way lacquer will? Thanks so much!
@JewittGuitarsАй бұрын
Yes and no. You can repair cracks and things like dents but I use GluBoost for that. It (urethane) doesn't melt the old finish they way nitro does. But repairs can be done.

Well - if you really think about it, an electric guitar is really nothing more than a small surfboard with strings.

Super useful stuff! As an Italian guitar maker I always struggle finding the commercial name for naptha here in europe (it doesn't exist apparently under that description). Do you have any suggestions on what the product is actually called out here? Unfortunately the american name resembles some of our words for different chemicals, causing a lot or confusion... thanks! 👍
@JewittGuitarsАй бұрын
Its the equivalent of lighter fluid here. In France its called "essence" I think. Brits use Naphtha. You might also try Stoddard Solvent.

JJ: when you're mixing the resin, hardener and thinner, what is the total volume needed for the base build coat, and for the finish coats? Cheers!
@JewittGuitars2 ай бұрын
For the build coats I try and use as little thinner as I can, typically 10% so for build 80/80/16 (resin/hardener/thinner), For the final coats same except I use 20% thinner so its about 30 parts
