@ArmouryEnterprises8 күн бұрын
@@mihaleban1323 Hi, Doing the whole cabinet in 1mm may be a bit flimsy. I use 0.9mm for most of the cabinet, but 1.5mm for the front/top/back peice. You might get away with it if you cross break (I think that's what it is called) in some ribs for strength. Thanks for watching

I want to make a 55 gallon reversible vacuum to clean my CNC machine's coolant sump (something similar to the Exair Chip Trapper). I am trying to understand how reversible pneumatic vacuums work. Your nozzle videos have been helpful. I'd like to try and avoid spending $3k on an entire system or $700 on a reversible pneumatic vacuum if it's something I can DIY. I'd appreciate your comments or thoughts on DIY reversible pneumatic vacuum ... if it's worth the effort of trying to make a DIY solution.
@ArmouryEnterprises2 ай бұрын
Hey mate, I am not really sure about the requirements for reversibility, but seeing as these are just a cheap printed body, you may be able to configure a pair of them to do what you need. Things to take into consideration would be chip size (May need to scale up the nozzle bodies) coolant/chip separation, and probably the shape of the bottom of the drum to ensure the reversed flow picks up what you need it to. Sorry mate, I don't know a whole lot about reversible pneumatic vacuums but happy to discuss it with you if I can help. Thanks for watching!

@@NickBucher-k2v Hi nick, I can't really give an accurate number at the gun as I have never measured there, but at the solenoid in the air control circuit - in this case: High pressure was 80psi, and low pressure was 35psi. Thanks for watching!

Hi Bryan, I used to, but now I am tied up with the cabinet builds. Usually it ends up being cheaper and quicker to have a local machine shop copy the jet that came with it. Other than that, all you need is a stainless m6 grub screw and a 1/2" BSP brass hose barb to suit your hose size. Thanks for watching!

Hey mate, I want to try a mix of glass bead and aluminium oxide to speed things along. Have you tried this, and if so, what mesh aluminium oxide do you use?
@ArmouryEnterprises7 ай бұрын
Hey Simon, I responded by email but figured I would answer here too for anyone else wondering. I use AC grade glass beads (250-150 Micron) and Brown AO (125 - 106 Micron) at about a 50/50 mix. I have brown AO because that was what was in stock, but it clouds up the water very quickly. White may be better in this regard. Cheers Josh

@@ArmouryEnterprises Do you think having a shorter airhose would be beneficial on smaller compressors?
@ArmouryEnterprises8 ай бұрын
It can help, but it depends. If you have a 10m long 1/4" hose and you cut it down to 1m, it will have a small improvement. But if you have a 10m long 1/2" line, the difference would be practically imperceptible.

What volume of pump should I use for a cabinet , the size of the red one , behind you. My budget and need i think is closer to an old dish washer pump, someone is throwing out lol.
@joshhubbard50269 ай бұрын
Depends on whether you plan to run it in the cabinet or in a reservoir underneath. If you are only able to get a small pump, you don't want to have it lift too high. I usually aim at around 9000 - 18000l/h. I would recommend looking for a second hand submersible pump. You can get them pretty cheaply. You can make dishwasher pumps work, but there are a couple of restraints. The flow rate is relatively low, and they are not submersible so plumbing can be a bit more complicated.
