What do you mean by extracting the carpet? I've never heard of it. Thx😊

What a priceless treasure to be able to gather history from your grandma! I am so sad about all the history that my family has lost by not taking time to gather stories from our loved ones before they left us. ❤❤❤

around 2006 I helped my grandma downsize from a 2 bedroom townhouse to a dorm room size room at a retirement place. we went through everything! I went every saturday for months. I had the best time.

I have my spices in a drawer , I can pull them out and see them easily. Alternatively they have pull out shelves for cabinets that drop down. You could also hang things like gloves and oven mitts on the doors of your pantry. My pantry has a pocket door so I lack the extra space.

I love watching your interactions with your grandma because it reminds me of my relationship with my grandma that passed in 2015! Also I love the way you say Grandma haha

I haven't watched your videos since you were working at your dads shop, moving heavy tools, tires i think, and disassembled them shelves. I don't know how, I lost track. But I found this one. I love decluttering. So sweet to help your grandma. I'll have to go through and see what I've missed.

"This has been so much fun spending all of this time with my grandma...getting to go through all of her stuff, and have her telling me all of her stories, explain all of the things are important to her and what they mean and... it's been a very special experience for me." Girl, that got me big in the feels. I am a grandma now, of two littles, and they live so far away. They've never gotten to spend enough time in our home to create anchored memories to my things (like you did when you found the little pumpkins that fit on your fingers)... but perhaps one day, they will at least want to sit a while with me, to hear all of my stories, and to listen to me explain what is important to me. For the moment, they're small and too far away for anything like that, but you give me hope for that kind of conversation someday. Your grandma is one lucky woman. You are the best, Gabbi!

I. Love. Your. Videos! This house is exactly how my mom’s house is. I will be cleaning it out soon since she passed away in May. I love that you are doing it together and are hearing the stories. That’s priceless.

I have been really loving your channel Gabbi! I am so glad Mack from Midwest Magic Cleaning mentioned your channel. Like his videos, I love to hear the sounds along with the sights of your cleaning and organizing. I feel like I'm right there with you; but you are doing all the work! ; D It was especially fun to hear your Grandma talking in the background. She sounds adorable! I can really feel the bond the two of you have, which is very heartwarming. When you remembered those Halloween finger things that you loved as a kid, it was quite special to see the feeling that came over you when holding them again. Keep up the good work Gabbi! Your channel is a winner!

Your gramma is adorbs. I swear she reminds me of my mom. So many treasures. My mom loved her things. And she was pretty protective of them. But I could deliver some good natured ribbing for some of the stuff she thought was keepers. You’re very right though, they are NOT pushovers. If they want it, it’s not going anywhere!!

Love the relationship you have with your grandmother. Glad she is doing so well decluttering. It does feel good to get rid of stuff. You will have great memories of doing this with your grandmother and knowing you helped her and like you said just the memories she is sharing, the stories you are hearing. I wish my grandparents and even my parents were still around to do this.

The one in, one out method is what I use, especially with purses (minus my “Maridel” purses). I also don’t just buy any purse. I try to buy designer purses but get them on marketplace and eBay. I used to keep every book I’d buy and read, but get most of mine now on my iPad. I do keep certain sci/fi books and my Laura Ingalls Wilder books have their own shelf.

How fortunate you are to have a relationship with your grandmother! I never had the opportunity with either set of my grandparents. My children did fortunately get to know both sets of grandparents and both grandparents considered them “bonus” grandchildren as my husband and I were older when we married!!! Memories last forever. Enjoy your time with your grandmother ❤️
