First of all I just wanted to say thank you for your positive feedback on my content. I’m very grateful 🙏🏾 Secondly I’m afraid I do not have an iPad that can run Logic for iOS so sadly I’m unable to check and advise on how to access the synths. Hopefully someone else will have a solution. Cheers 😀

It becomes more tricky when you don't use input monitoring. I'm recording with an Apollo interface, and my problem is that everything sounds good on the accompanying "console" software. After recording in Logic, I'm noticing that the levels are too hot and clip at times, especially in dynamic vocals. Since I'm not listening to what's being recorded while playing or singing, but rather to the monitor signal from the interface, this is frustrating. How do I calibrate those two audio systems to work on the same level of loudness sensitivity? Thanks!
@MTTC
@MTTC 5 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment Johannes. It’s a very peculiar situation in that the level meters on both the audio interface and Logic channel should deliver the same readings. If they out of sync that’s an issue I’m unable to propose a solution for as I do not use an Apollo device so it is outside of my area of knowledge. Hopefully someone else reading this will have a solution. Sorry 😔

Hi Duce, greetings from Glasgow. I’m just catching your channel for the first time as I’m considering changing up from GarageBand (which I love) to Logic, mainly because of the Session AI. It could really speed up a lot of things for me. I loved Drummer on GB and could go quite deep with it so I think I could get a lot out of Session Player. Great video, thank you. New subscriber!👍

Johnny!!! Welcome aboard sir. You’ve had a great appetiser already, so now get ready for the main course and so much more my friend. I’ve been using Logic since 1996 and since these new session players have been added I’ve been near losing my mind each time I fire it up. You’re gonna love it. Enjoy my friend 😃

Excellent video sir, well done. I would ask you though, do you find working with these tools ends up causing you to get really irritated listening to the almost mechanical perfection of these generated tracks. I have found myself hating songs that started as a simple guitar jam (which I thought were pretty good) after getting the whole computer perfection treatment. On the other hand, I can dust off the old Tascam 4 track, record everything live and drive around listening to the cassette mix down for ages, enjoying the "new" song... (and yes my dear old 20th century Mazda 3 still has a cassette player 😬)

My dear friend what a fantastic message ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ You hit the nail on the head in terms of the fact that nothing beats the organic process of creating music using human hands and a human brain 🧠 I struggle to listen to music past 1987ish. My family can’t understand it as I’m a musician and producer and a professional blah blah blah. I still have my Fostex R8 reel to reel and my Denon cassette decks but they are buried so deep it will be a mission to get to them. But who knows one day soon. 😃Thanks once again for the fantastic insights 🙏🏾

I have just got silk and so waves jjp how does jjp compare with cla vocals?
@MTTC
@MTTC 9 күн бұрын
I’ve found the algorithms used in Silk Vocal much smoother than the JJP plugin. Plus you have more control over shaping the tone of the vocal. I suppose there’s nothing lost in trying out the JJP Plugin for the 7 days to see if it adds anything to your flavour of music 🙏🏾

GREAT video! The groove build-up and presentation and using a different swing percentage on different instruments, and comparing the groove on the bass part was eye-opening! You kept the swing strictly set at 16th notes, though? I guess the subtle differences make all the difference, eh? 😁 Lastly...to all you who don't have the Waves plugs...I really think ChromaGlow will do the same thing. And handle it all. PLEASE keep these amazing videos coming! 🙌🏻

I have tried vocal audio to midi using Cubase, Logic, Ableton, the new free Neural plugin, and Melodyne Studio - some work better than others but all still need way to much clean up. It is faster to just play in the midi part.

I suppose the question is therefore which DAW was used to make the beat in the first place? Then of course which DAW will be used to record the vocals once the beat is imported? 🤔💭

You make a very good point. I suppose it’s a bit like choosing a nice fruit to munch. Fruits are pretty much all lovely in their own way but it all depends on way flavour you are looking for at the time. All of these compressor circuits do have their own unique flavour or sonic characteristics and the more you use them the more the tonal effects become apparent. Cheers for the great and honest feedback 😀

@@MTTC Thank you for answering. Sorry maybe it's just me but I find it counter productive to have too many options. I prefer Logic FX but sometimes I miss Ableton single compressor. Which one is your go to compressor? I tend to use presets at the moment. Even when you use different vintage compressors, then choosing different parameters can make it harder to compare. Is the difference because of the nature of the compressor or because of the paramters you are applying? Sorry for the rambling, i love your videos and the soothing tone of your voice.
