Good sound but a little jittery and not quite proportional. Obviously controlled by the PWM from the ESC but like a lot of sounds, they speed up the sound to imitate engine speed while also sending the pitch higher. Why don’t engine sound makers spend a few minutes adjusting the timing and engine pitch to the tone?

Come on guys, for real. You don't replace the entire cap just because the damn string broke. You can buy the damn tether for 50 cent, or for a dollar if you get it with the plastic ring around the cap. Replacing it takes 20 seconds, no tools required.

This video was very helpful to me. The springs do in fact have up and down. The loop at the end is slightly larger at the bottom. Also some have asked whether it's necessary to change both springs. I'd say yes. Springs and shocks are always replaced in pairs. For my car the spring p/ns are not shown on RealOEM when I enter my chassis number so it would be virtually impossible to find a single replacement to match the old spring. A new spring of the same spec will never be identical to the old spring anyway. I had one spring break similar to yours, one and a half turn from the top. When I removed the other spring it turned out to be broken too half a turn from the bottom which was very hard to see when it was installed. The springs I removed were also not identical to each other. One was constant wire diameter and the other was tapered.

Thank you for this excellent tutorial, it made the job a breeze once I figured out how to get the car on jack stands. I only have one floor jack and it's impossible to use on the rear jack point under the diff. Thanks to a suggestion left by LeverThis on e46fanatics I was able to lift from the front jack pad and this also lifted lift the rear wheel on the same side off the ground allowing me to put a jack stand under the rear pad. I then could remove my floor jack from the front and put the spare wheel in its place as a precaution. This freed my floor jack to use for supporting the spring when disconnecting the shock. Hope this will help someone.

You do not put grease on back of pads these days thats what the shim is on the back to stop brake squeal … smear bit on if makes ya feel better but the amount you put on is shocking ….nor do you put it around the side of the piston what you done… only place grease goes is on the slider pins

Great video! I have same car and now I did same job after 20y. I believe my car parts was original, never changed. I also broken the bolt what you mentioned, not happy for that at all. I also replaced wishbones, swing supports, new springs, support bearings. Also did front brake renewal (changed new brake cylinders). But I do not recommend to hold compressed spring upwars as you did, it will be real dangerous and if something bad happened you will get injured. I always hold it sideways and away from everything living when compressed :). I believe spring replacement may be one of the most dangerous DIY. Thanks for the video and take care!

Hello, what for a motor have you used? I'm building the 1.7m long container ship with 1 propeller shaft (4mm diameter). Is it needed to tilt down the shaft down as you did or it is possible to mount the shaft also straight? Thanx for answer to my 2 questions... 🙂
