@paul707.7 I made these. I took them off of some cheap New Bright RC, cut all the spikes off, cut the centers out, and then glued the centers from some WPL wheels inside.

Just recently picked up an older version of the snow leopard m26 in great shape at an auction for 25 dollars. Its the old 27 ghz model and drives and turns fine. However, it came with no operators manual and all i can find online is the manual for the 2.4 ghz model which is completely different. E-mails sent to Heng long have remained unanswered. My transmitter has 3 buttons on the bottom of it and i have no idea what they're for or where to look for info regarding this older tank. I don't even know what controls the airsoft gun on this transmitter. I can't even find out when these older tanks were produced....80's?, 90's?, early 2000's?. There just really isn't much information on the net at all about these older m26's, and its very frustrating. Anyway, great vid!

What longer barrel is this? Does it come with the HL barrel recoil unit?

It's a custom-made one. I made it from a brass tube and to scale length. The recoil unit, I made from Taigen Tiger 1 unit. There was a lot of custom work to get it to fit into the Pershing turret. I have a playlist of the whole build.

They were originally off of some newbright truck I bought at a yard sale for $1. I cut the centers out, the spikes off, then glued them to the WPL wheels.

Yes. The Sherman is running MATO tracks, and the Pershing has Taigen.

very nice - would think necessary. ugh…Mato. hope you didn’t apend hours with a metal file removing their name off each track link like I did in my T-90 tracks.

@@ericdbates I don't recall there being a MATO stamp on them. I just put them on and started running it through stuff. Lol Taigen didn't have the duck bill tracks available when I built this tank, so I went with MATO. I'm thinking about upgrading the Pershing to MATO as well.

they look great! worked well. yes, the T-90 tracks had “MATO” raised in metal on each track pad (both sides). I bet I spent 8 hours removing it. Sherman’s probably don’t have the room. :) anyway, nice work.

It's actually a NEWQITA Toys locomotive with some Bachmann rolling stock. It looks like a copy of an LGB.

You could do a magnet mod to it. Instead of using screws to hold the hull halfs together put micro magnets on the screw posts. I did this to my Henglong Tiger I , works great and allows quick access.

Did you do anything special to keep from getting snow/ water in your components? In other words how did you go about waterproofing if you did?

I've done no water proofing. But, I also don't go into very deep water. If I wanted to really push it, I could put the control boards in a bag, or small Tupperware inside the tank. The motors can run submerged without issue. Snow is a non-issue. Just let the tank sit outside for 15ish minutes, so it is the same temperature. The snow won't melt on it or stick to it then.

The Sherman is mostly a Taigen. It has a MATO turret and tracks because Taigen didn't have the 76 turret or duckbills at the time. They do now, though. www.taigentanks.com

You know I have this same tank in heng longs 7.0 version as I have said before. But mine doesn't have the barrel recoil either. So I ordered the heng long barrel recoil unit from toucan hobby and I'm going to try to put the barrel recoil unit in my pershing so it matches my m1a2 abrams, my king tiger, and tiger 1. They are all heng longs. Motion rc sells 4 heng long models in the pro versions that have barrel recoil. And they are the M1A2 Abrams, King tiger, Tiger1, and the Panther G. Great video and very informative. Love the barrel recoil!!

Heng Long really has come a long way since I bought this tank. Most barrel recoil units you buy are for IR turrets. This one still shoots the 6mm BBs.

Could you have saved yourself alot of time splicing wires together for hull recoil by just buying a new 7.0 board? I just trying to learn a little more about these tanks.

Those were not available when I bought this tank. It's 8 years old. The only thing available at the time was something expensive like an IBU, so I spliced two of the RX-18 MFUs together to disable track recoil. And, when I bought the new Taigen board, Heng Long was still using the RX-18. My second kid delayed all RC projects until now, so I'm using parts I bought a few years ago. This tank is getting the Taigen V3 MFU. The only reason I have to do any wiring at all is because I ripped the guts out of their Tiger 1 recoiling airsoft turret to make this M26 turret. I kinda go over it in this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJvbmnZ4nrZpr9E I cut a few mm out of the middle of each tire, and super glued them back together. Then I cut the outer ring and hub out of a set of rims and glued them to the back of another set of rims. Doing it this way let's you have duals without making the truck wider. There are aftermarket rims you can buy that let's you just put uncut tires on for duals, but they make the truck wider. I'll be making another set soon for another truck I want to build.

This specific mod isn't a kit. Taigen made a recoiling airsoft turret for their Tiger 1. I'm gutting one of those and modifying a Pershing turret to recoil. Part 1 covers the tear-down. kzbin.info/www/bejne/naPKoayObLyLgbc I get most parts from www.taigentanks.com/ They do have normal IR recoil kits, though.

Not yet. I'm getting ready to replace the turret and electronics. The track just needs a replacement link. I'll fix the track as part of that build series. The buried tank is very beat-up. The previous owner must have had another tank with a super hopped up airsoft, because it has a bunch of 6mm holes and dents in it. It will need a complete rebuild.
