I love both of them , i have the mangrove coast 8wt and the axiom 2x 10wt.. i found that a 7wt line on my mangrove coast 8wt made it cast better for me

Saddens me that Dave Whitlock is not with us anymore. He was a great mentor for me as he was for thousands of fly fisherman. Thanks Flip and thanks for stopping by my fly shop so many years ago.

Interesting symbiotic relationships fish have with other fish species. I fly fish for Atlantic Salmon in shallow water during the fall on the Great Lakes. Those Atlantics push schools of minnows in water that is half s foot deep and walleyes take advantage of that by aggressively gorging on those minnows. The walleye know exactly what distance to keep from the salmon and when to make their move..

Two very important things I learned from my parents. My dad taught me to always lead with love and kindness and my mom taught me no regrets…..both have served me well.

Oh my gosh…Walkers Cay is back. I’m back 20 years ago, watching one the best outdoors show ever, including American Sportsman, and Spanish Fly. I thank you KZbin. I’m hold up following knee surgery, and watching angling is about all I can do for another few months. Thanks again Flip Pallot, José, and Curt Gowdy. Thanks Again.

I asked a salesman years ago the difference in a 50 dollar fly rod and a 300 dollar one. I'll never forget his answer. He said when you fish with a 300 you'll instantly know the difference/ answer. He was right. I love TFO rods , bought a BVR then 2 more. They want to send the fly line. My first cast , I smiled. Thanks to Flip , Lefty and Jose for teaching me to fly cast. Mangrove coast huh?....

I feel for those that don't know of Flip. Anyone that fishes yet has never seen his double haul or him , catch , expertly play then land a 200 lb shark on bait tackle in minutes. A man that went to Alaska , salmon fishing with 2 four wt fly rods. Thanks for taking those that wanted to go back into your world Flip. Thanks to you , Lefty and Jose for all the fly casting lessons. It was quite a ride. Thank you.

I've never met this man but I have a wish for his future. When the day finally comes that only God will decide. I wish for Flip to wake in a place where he is able to forever cast to Tailing Fish. I want him to have the ability to close his tired eyes and to simply think of his ideal place. When upon opening them, he is magically there. Whether it be on a shallow Bonefish Flat or for a small group of Tarpon cruising towards him. Or... whatever Flip decides. I've never met this man. But he deserves nothing less. To me, he is a part of all of us and because of that, I adore him.

🌴 We have grown old together over many years ,I’m a friend he doesn’t know , I’ve idolized him as a kind of mentor showing me what direction to go , yet our paths have never crossed it just goes to show life is short and we think about what we should have done long long ago . Tight lines flip .

Flip you've been an inspiration since I watched Walker's Cay Chronicles during the 90's. You're truly a legendary Angler / Outdoorsman! 🤙
@xxHonkxx6 ай бұрын
I think Flip deeply cares about the outdoors and he laments how much the Florida Keys have degraded during his life. Was having arguably the most popular fishing show constantly highlighting the fishery positive or negative in retrospect? Development no doubt played a major role in the decline of the fishery but would it create more positive experiences for anglers as a whole without all the promotion?
