Hi there, thanks for the video. My M32 isn't behaving properly, and for what I see I believe yours does the same. When you play a sequence of "C" on M32 while the external sequencer is running, the resulting sequence is trasposed. Is not even in another key (for example 3 semitone above or something), there are random octaves and stuff. Your sequence ahs, for example, the first note on another octave. Please do correct me if I'm wrong. Having an empty sequence (i.e. just rests) doesn't solve the problem, cause in that case the M32 won't play at all...

Hi there, thank you for tuning in! Yes, this one is a tricky issue. I believe it has to do with how the Mother-32 handles the start of a pattern when it's receiving both internal and external clock signals. I've noticed it myself, it will retrigger step 1 on every loop, falling out of sync with the Keystep Pro. Like I said in the video, it's more of a workaround. I reached out to Moog, and this was their response at the time: " I'm afraid the assignable output is dependent on the sequencer running in order to function. It would be nice to utilize the assignable output without having to run the sequencer. I'll pass the suggestion along to our engineers to see if it can be done in a future update." Let me know if checking the Tempo settings help. I hope I understood your question correctly - if not feel free to clarify, I'll be happy to look into it further. Also, if anyone else reading this has any insights, please chime in! 👋

Thank you so much for this video. I nearly sold mine and I will be truthful....I did not give it my full concentration and I did not try hard enough. I was lazy and started to look for easier options ( GAS). Gas is lethal. You are so right. So so correct in what you said and I have now cleared my desk and put the mother 32 on there and will study it instead of trashing it. The whole damned reason I bought it was to give me something to do and to learn. Most give up on the sequencer! Thanks again.

Good videos. I just got one last week. I’ve been trying to follow how to randomize the notes. Or self generated and I follow what the video tells me but for some reason, it’s not doing it wonder what I’m doing wrong?

Mmmh strange 🤔doing it like this should do the trick. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3qmgYyiiLF2rdU&si=2CM-gqqD_FW5vJo0 Can you check the led when in that mode. It should be on the last one, number 8. If not it won't work. Sometimes I have to get back in there as well in order to put it on the random setting. Can you check that? 🙂

I find the mother 32 intuitive and accessible up to a point. Then there's room left for exploration, leading to interesting unexpected outcomes. I have all 3 modules but I'm mostly drawn to mother 32 of them all. After over 3 years with them all, there is still more left to explore and that is one of the main reasons I bought them, longevity.

I play first... see what i come up with and make a track I then read the manual, play with it see what i come up with and make a track. Them i watch some vids. Play with it and make dome tracks. Then inpstch across to my modular.... you never get a chance to just play if you read the manual first...

You’re absolutely right. It's important to look after what works best for you. In my case, I played a lot before reading the manual, and I felt I reached a ceiling. I tried that pedal on my synth as well , I'm not sure when it comes to the prophet if it really adds something unique there, the subtle imperfections are nice in the sound to make it more organic but otherwise it's hard to discern the pedal on synths unless you push it a bit further as you said in your other video. In this video I can't discern the tape like effects of the pedal. The sounds overall are quite big. Thanks for your content btw. Great playing!
@KadForward Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your experience! You're right, the sounds of the Prophet are already very rich, and even when pushing this pedal, it doesn't really come through. That's why I also explore other options, like playing with the pitch of the Prophet itself or using VST plugins. Thanks again for your feedback.
