You include it in your policies and procedures that there is a yearly fee used to help maintain the facility, upgrade equipment, pay for books, etc. If it is part of the typical onboarding process, parents don't mind.

Try a yearly package pricing discount. I offer two packages once per year around the holidays: Buy five months, get one month free. This keeps kids enrolled from January through June (with June free) so kids can attend the recital. The other deal is buy one year and get two months free (typically used in the summer). This keeps kids enrolled for a full year, and gets cash up front (no rain checks), which is usually something like $2000 per kid. When I run these programs I typically get a cash infusion of about $20,000-$40,000, owned free and clear. I much prefer to sell services in a creative way. If your margins are set right, you're not going to lose much by pre-selling and packaging multiple months.

Great question. I might do a video on this. But for now, here's some of the biggest things that drastically reduce the chances of student theft.... 1. Building a music school that offers better experiences and opportunities than private teachers, so if students leave they would very obviously be leaving for something worse. 2. Hiring well. Checking reference, character and motives. Having clear conversations about boundaries and policies. 3. Providing a great job and being a great boss who develops them and their career and provides a clear pathway to earn more. @@buildamusicschool No. Like the content of what they teach. I have all my lessons built but the issue is on how can i have teachers teach using my content because it’s all planned out but without them stealing my lesson and using it in other places or even selling it

@@jtmusiclessons21 Here's 2 bits of advice for you. One practical, the other more mindset... 1 - In the BAM library you can grab all our curriculum books for free and add your own branding and covers to them. You can also watermark pages with your logo so if a teacher does copy stuff, their students are seeing your logo 2. This isn't worth wasting your time worrying about. It's rare and when it does happen - i've never seen a thief succeed in building a teaching business that would be any threat to mine. Don't let things like this hold you back from building your dream music school.
