I would bet on your second prediction. 3 strong all arounders and 2 event specialists who can do all around just in case. Skye is still a question mark but i would say its her time to shine. Too bad for jordan, kayla and leanne. I wish they could go too. But lets see, you never know what can happen!

this was my exact prediction for the olympic team and alternates. i think that jade will make the team over kayla dicello ONLY if she upgrades to an amanar for vault (instead of dty) and upgrades her floor (adds silivas and a 1/1 double tuck dismount)

It's all fine and dandy that Skye can do all these great routines in the USA but she has shown twice that once she get's on the Global Stage she chokes, like Sam Mikulak...he received far too many chances and should have been sidelined once and he'd have learned to fight for every medal he was capable of earning and would have done it...Skye is much the same, she cannot be counted on for the team nor to medal.....I'd put Simone, Shilese, Jordan, Suni and in that 5th place either Hezly or Joscelyn, or if she's consistent Tiana for that next quad to get some sort of experience..;otherwise all your athletes run off to college or retire and you are stuck with a bunch of first year Jr's and incapable of creating a team that medals.....

Jade Carey was not a part of team USA in the last olympics. She qualified through the individual spots, given at world cup events. So she won’t make “another” olympic team, since she was never part of one. If she does make the team it’ll be her first time.

If they were smart and she hits 14.2+ at trials, they should take Kaliya. Jade can't beat Rebecca or Simone on vault so the only vault medal that is up for grabs is bronze and that could easily go to Skye. Jade will not medal in floor this year unfortunately and she may have to fight to make EF over Shi anyway. It really doesn't make much sense to take Jade - her Cheng barely outscores a clean dty nowadays. Kaliya has a better shot at medaling on floor and would help the team score. However, if Kayla (or Jordan) can get within one or two-tenths of Kaliya on floor, that's who they should go with. Jordan's floor scares me though - she can't do a wolf turn to save her life and her leaps will not get credited internationally. Unless we see some MAJOR shifts - Kayla, Jordan, and Kaliya have the best shot for the fifth spot... If I were Kayla, I'd try to hit 8 for 8 so she can be 3rd AA and at that point, they'd have to take her, even if she doesn't have EF potential or help the team much in TF. I really hope an Elizabeth Price or Mckayla Skinner situation doesn't happen with Kayla though - I'm rooting for her.

They will not take any one-event specialist over VT and FX contenders except they are top 1-2 at worlds like Madison Kocian. Kaliya's best case will be an alternate and become a strong team member for the next quad.

@@drew-ih7bx it’s the similar committee in 2023. If they didn’t take Kailya in 2023, they probably won’t take her in 2024. The last spot should cover at least two events and help Shilese / Simone rest for all around. But they don’t rest Shilese / Simone when others can’t put up a higher number.

If the selection committee thinks smart: Simone, Shilese, Skye, Suni, Jade. That can cover all possible medals. Someone wants to push domestic AA order which was reversed by Tokyo judges after top 2...😂😂 With the domestic judges crediting tumor leaps, I don't think the AA order is that meaningful except top 1-2. Skye will go because of the Cheng upgrade. Suni will go because of the beam (and possibly bars) medal potential. Jade will go because of the vault and floor medal potential.

I agree with the others, but just really look at Jades scores. Her floor scores have been in the 13s, and yes her vaults have been in the 14s, but there are so many other gymnast scoring almost as high as her on vault - Jordan, Skye, Leanne, and Kayla. I really don't think that Jade has a chance to make the team, but she'll probably get an alternate spot maybe? Idk this is just my opinion on it.

@@violetg6023 Using unfair domestic scores to identify Jade's scores is ridiculous, Kayla and Jordan are good but they are overrated domestically, I can't believe that Kayla's jumps on the balance beam can be credited, the same way that Jordan's jumps on the floor were credited, these are not recognized internationally, Jade's performances and scores at international competitions are worthy of credits

To think Jade and Suni won’t upgrade when they both CAN and will do so is quite stupid honestly. If they hit both will be on the team!!! Suni can be the top 3 AA with her upgrades. And if she somehow isn’t, she still is a better option than someone like Skye or Kayla. Jade will upgrade her fx and has a potential amanar in her bag. NO ONE has a higher medal potential, besides Simone, than her andddd with her upgraded fx she’ll be also a contender for a fx medal. After all, she, unlike Jordan, is better judged internationally, not to mention her amazing dependability. “Trust the process” miss OGM said. She’s taking it 🫡

One of the issues I have with trying to include upgrades into routines at this stage is that you don't really get a chance to work them into your routines in a competition setting. This is the final game before the Olympics and we know that there is a huge difference between being able to do something in the gym and up on the podium. It would have made sense to start trying out those upgrades at the Core Classic to see how they really work out and if the judges are going to give the scores that you're expecting. I think that for Suni, bringing in the UB upgrades are critical because her D score at Nationals were below Simone's. She needs to bring them up to at least a 6.0 and do it with her usual execution. Her BB already was the highest at Nationals, but her execution was lower so bringing any kind of upgrade there would be a risk. She needs to clean up her execution and make all her connections. She's not going to be used for VT or FX so trying to upgrade there won't help her much. As for Jade, her FX difficulty was fine - it was her execution that was an issue. If she can't do her routines clearer, than trying to add more difficulty is not going to work. Her VT D score was on par with everyone not named Simone, but again her execution was off. Her UB D score is at least a full point lower than the top finishers in the event. Her BB was a mess but that was never her strongest event. IF she makes the team, it will be strictly for FX and VT, and that will only be with upgrades and clean execution.

@@ravanne3746 I don't think the domestic judges who gave candy credit to tumor leaps will give you valuable suggestions or scores. Jade upgraded floor last minute in Tokyo and it worked out for her. She looks pacing so well unlike last year. She needs to upgrade at trial because insane judges inflated others by at least 0.5 on one apparatus alone. And actually Jade's execution is fine lol. Her leaps are just 0.1 off now, unlike others' tumor leaps like L-hop 1/1 and Gogeans. Just because domestic judges didn't take deductions doesn't mean Olympic judges will not take them. Olympic judges are famous for reversing Tom Deforestation's domestic AA rank order after top 2. Suni's 5.8D bars will still be TF-able. So an upgrade will be a bonus. She's a beam queen at this Olympic year.

Jade needs to score 14+ on floor in order to make the team imo. Her cheng is valuable but they would also need a consistent floor score. If another gymnast (I.e DiCello, Chiles or Roberson) scores higher than her on floor, I just don’t see Jade making the team

Right now, the only locks (if they're healthy and competing they way they normally do, are Simone and Shilese. The fight will be for the other three spots. it's a fair assessment that Jade and Suni have to bring in the upgrades and for everyone else in the top six or so, it's all going to be how they perform at Trials. If Jordan shows more consistency, I can see her on the team. A lot is going to depend on whether they want five excellent AAs who can shine on two or more events or whether they're willing to sacrifice a strong AA in favor of a specialist on one of two apparatuses. That would improve Suni's chances of making the team if they're not going to depend on her on every event. I actually don't think that Jade stands as strong a chance because the two events that she really shines on (FX & VT) are already well covered by Simone, Shilese and potentially Jordan. I think that Suni on BB & UB would be more valuable in the end.

Jade smokes Jo -who is being lucky that the US judges are not devaluing or deducting her fx properly, and the reigning Olympic fx champ WILL make the team unless she has a disaster meet. After all she, more than any other person, knows how to peak flawlessly when needed. Just wait and watch!

@@mustawgym The biggest problem for Jade is that the two events where she is strongest are the ones we need her the least on. In the event finals, she came in 3rd on VT, and that's with Shilese not being at Nationals, and on FX tied for 4th (again with Shilese not competing). She's not strong enough on UB and BB to be of real value. And at Nationals, she finished 7th in the AA. Even with upgrades on FX, the question is if she's really needed over someone that will do better on UB & BB (where she is struggling).

Simone, Shilese, Skye, Suni can cover bars and beam so well. There is no need for the 5th bars and beam. There is a million need for a vault and floor girl who has a shot to medal on vault and floor. Flavia will attempt Chuso for 5.9D and Sabrina will go for 6.1+D. Jordan's international D score is 5.8D.

Rebecca has flexed feet and some leg separation and scoots her right leg in the front to make her landing look more stable. Simone's technique is much better. Rebecca's landings look pleasing to the eye because she sacrifices on technique.

Her body was straight. She had a stutter landing but her chest was high, so it was good. So yes, she deserved the score.

Blakely’s Cheng was overscored (by 2 to 3 tenths probably), but the fact that she can hit a cheng is going to increase her chances to possibly make the team. with that Cheng she is saying you can put me up not only on beam in team finals but also vault and bars (if necessary).

There should probably be a small height or distance deduction. Her height and distance were both good, but Simone's are still so much better, and judges are supposed to leave room so that they can differentiate the best from the slightly lesser on height/distance.

She actually got more height than simone and her height is certainly not deductible either way, neither is her distance. Quite simply, deductions don’t work that way, as long as you meet a certain threshold, you don’t get deducted. That’s like saying simone should be deducted on height for her amanar because she doesn’t soar as high as Maroney. Going above and beyond doesn’t get you extra tenths. Skye’s dynamics are good.

An Aly Raisman fan doing form videos, now that's fucking hilarious. This video is full of shit. You just want Jade Carey on the team because it's obvious you like overscored chuckers. I am not even a fan of Leanne (upgrade, for heaven's sake) but this video just reeks of bitterness. US judges always overscore but when you compare this routine to Kayla Dicello falling forward and giving out Excessive preparation and control landing on a Popa she fully got around and landed fine you just prove what this video is about. You are bitter. I am so over the Gymternet idiots being biased.

I don't hate Leanne. Also i'm not a big fan of Jade Carey. In my video about early olympic prediction you can see that they are both on my team. I think that Leanne has a better floor than Jade in this competition and she simply deserved 3rd place
