Well shit. I did everything right except removing the shell. I realised when I was closing the case back up that one of the IR sensors was cut when I was removing the shell, and now the tracking is completely ruined on the left controller. It would have been great if you showed us how to remove the shell safely with the in-tact controller, instead of the already opened one. I dunno how I'm gonna fix this, and there are no controllers on the market at the moment. Good video besides that.

This was an absolutely magnificent video. It was very easy to follow and I appreciate that you show how to put everything back together, rather than just how to take it apart. Saved a lot of time having to try and find another video an reassembly!

Is it still possible to find a place online that you can buy a replacement for the sensors inside the ring if the sensor strip got damaged or torn?

Thank you very much, it worked!!! When I tested the old bearing it ran very smoothly and the new one was kind of "stiff" but just for the fun of it I used the new one. I thought it won't work, it's probably something else. BUT would you believe, it's running again. The 1/2" long metal pipe at the end silicone water feeding pipe came off, so when installing it into the hole, align the split-ring with the little "bump" in front of the platform ( very small) Thanks again

Best way to align at the end is to lock the lid like you are making coffee and it easily aligns. Great video and thanks - mine was so lout you could hear it outside of my house. I did buy a new one, but I figured I'd give it a try and this video really helped. Now it's very quiet and now I have 2 Nespresso machines - might take one to work or something. Took under an hour. I bought the bearings on amazon - got 2 for $8.

Thanks for this great video. After completion it all worked great except it only produced hot water. I also found that the small circlip on the central metal tube was the problem. There is a very small nub on the black plasic part where the circlip sits, and it is essential that the gap in circlip fits over this nub or it does not set properly. Thanks again.

I changed my bearing and it works well, thank you. I think I must’ve done a step wrong as now the old pod is stuck when I am putting in a new one instead of just sliding off. Any idea what could be the reason?

I decided to try this - had to have my husband help as it was very difficult to unscrew the part that gets you to the bearing. Too bad that you can’t see the critical parts during half of the video. Someone said to photograph each step - that’s a great idea! All that being said, the new bearing solved the problem! Machine is so quiet now it’s unbelievable. Lesson learned - clean and descale on a more regular basis. $$ saved as I was ready to throw the machine in the trash! Wish Romafix would make a new video tho with better video and slow down. Music is also unnecessary. Thanks tho for letting us all know this can be solved!

Excellent video. I repaired two machines. Unfortunately following the repair they only produced hot water (no coffee). I ended up taking them apart multiple times to try and figure out why. For those that had the metal tube fall out of the rubber hose (like me), when you replace it, make sure you position the gap in the circlip over the elevated tab on the top plate otherwise the hose and tube will not sit correctly and the water will bypass the coffee pod and all you will get is hot water.

If you still have this scooter (or a charger): would you be so kind as to let me know what the connector is? I thought it was a failry standard 5.5 OD by 2.1 ID, but it doesn't seem to fit. My caliper says OD 4.5 but there is always some measurement error there. I cannot find a connector that will work :( My scooter has the same overall shape but the battery is only 24V, the motor on the wheel says 250W.

This video helped tremendously, thank you. I just want to point out that a T10 Torx bit fits the screws better than a T9. I also need a 14mm socket to release the plastic nut on top of the bearing -- it was pretty tight.

Hi.. I have vertuo next. First it would not pump, probably because it sucked in air cause the tank was empty. I opened it and took of the hose at top, started it and the air was out. The constant orange/red light is blinking. I press the button and it pumps water like when cleaning, but the blinking light will not go away. It was only white/blue for a few seconds at one point when i had the air hose disconnected, after that it went back to blinking red light. It does not help restarting it etc. and it wont read the capsuls. What can be wrong? Anything that can be done?? Has the pressure or motor gone bad or something? We had it for 3 years and only used to make like 2 cups on Saturday and Sunday. 🤷‍♂️

LOCKED LID FIX I'm one of those dolts ;-) who didn't watch the end of the video in detail; I thought he was just having a little trouble snapping the cap back on. Once again, I was reminded to watch the full video first, so you can flag sections like this. And read ALL the comments first. With 500-plus, I scanned down a bit, but somehow didn't notice the issues of people locking themselves out of their machines. D'oh! (I noticed the lever was off-center as I was closing it, and had an idle thought of whether I could live with it… then "click" and the realization that I was locked out. ) But as I write, I'm enjoying a great coffee after a week of pressed, made by my repaired (blessedly quiet) machine. In my case, it would start a cycle, then seize, stop working, and start flashing. Some observations and a locked top "solution" below (I have the De'Longhi flat-top version). As a commenter has said, BEWARE. 1. I didn't have trouble prying up the cap the first time, but managed to end up with a small piece of broken plastic the second time (not a big deal.) Be gentle. 2. The location of those pins is *key*. [6:51] Fail to note this, and you may discover that the large coiled spring can be *dangerous*. I had trouble twisting the cap piece back down on the spring, but finally got it seated a little under the tabs. "Is that it?" I wondered. A moment later, standing above it, I looked down and BOOM! A 3" projectile hit me hard on the cheek and the edge of my glasses. No one else has mentioned this particular fail, but I guess there had to be a first time. ;-) The pins need to be turned counterclockwise to open position. This will open up the tabs enough to bayonet this thing on. 3. Lock release. After some initial frustrated attempts to open it, I gave it a few days, re-read any relevant comments, and pored over video stills and my own photos to try and determine where that release tab was under the cover. I figured I could potentially reach it from under the lid with a paper clip or other tool; failing that, I could pry the rear part of the cover off at the back hinge location and possibly get better access to the clip; or I could break the cover by prying at the front, which sounds like what @johnradford2258 suggested. I'd considered the drilling option early on, and a comment on this gave me confidence it might work as a last resort. The closest I could get with a tool was after prying off the back of the cover and shimming it along the side. With a paper clip I could feel the spring, but couldn't push the tab. I have thin, angled electronics pliers, but I couldn't create a big enough gap to get them in. Time to pull out the drill. I used a 3/8" bit, but probably could've gone a bit smaller. I put some tape over the area, then drilled, slowly, from the side about 1/2" above the bottom of the cover where the flat part meets the curve. Then I used a bent 3" finishing nail to lever the tab, and the top popped open. 4. I'd seen the comments about leaks and the silver tube. My tube had popped out during the face-blast incident, and fortunately, while looking for the spring, my wife found it. I had to guess at where it came from. ;-) I figured I might as well go back and have a look at what I'd done with that, and glad I did. Read those comments. Conclusion: While a bit of hack, this works. The hole is quite unobtrusive, and I could possibly even find a rubber plug for it. (I actually consider it a "feature", in case my lever ever gets disconnected, which I saw happened to someone somewhere.) I've put a couple of photos on my channel->community in case you're in this situation and want to know the location of the hole. Thanks again to RomaFix! (Wish I'd hung onto the old machine we replaced this one with 1.5 years ago. It lasted five years, though it sounded like a plane taking off for much of its life. I bought a 10-pack of bearings for $18 and I've got a bunch left.)

I drilled a hole too like you explained! Thank you for saving me 😂 Mine is a bit more toward the crease than yours, but in the end your hole is in a better spot! (I ended up drilling a little bit to much toward the screw spot). In the end I’m able to use my Nespresso machine so it’s all that matters!! Going to put a small sticker to cover the hole and voilà!

@@sabrina.m0924 Good to hear! The sticker's a brilliant idea. The hole is tough to notice -- I asked a friend to tell me if anything was odd about the machine, and he couldn't. But I did try a plastic plug, which didn't work that well (turns out my bit was 5/16). Might just try the sticker.

Thank you for this! I had coffee building up around the edge where the Pods are inserted. I followed your dismantling of the VertuoPlus and found the spring arms were connected to one arm and not separately. The pressure wasnt there clamping down on the pod and it was a successful fix. One thing to note- you will also need a T9 screw as well as the T10 which you note in the description.

Just spent about 2 hours following this video to replace the bearing, as well as pretty thoroughly cleaning as many parts and pieces as possible. It was totally worth the time and effort. The bearing only costs $6on Amazon, and a good set of electronics screwdrivers was maybe $8-$12 more. Now I can fix loads of other fidgety things around the house! REMEMBER TO PHOTOGRAPH AS YOU GO EACH TIME YOU DISCONNECT OR REMOVE SOMETHING, BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER! I left a key part out and luckily caught my error. My only suggestion/comment would be that a fair amount of the video is not properly framed to get the parts of the coffee maker or the process involved. Worth a re-do, I think. Thanks for the helpful and informative video.

Pro tip for loud noise. Also tighten the two screws on the chrome top. They tighten the latch itself and that cause noise. You can test by running it and resting your hand on the top, if it wiggles in the lock position those screws are loose and will also cause excess noise on wind down.

My machine is definitely showing the freeplay up and down. I ran it with cup catcher off to confirm that it is leaking from the cup area. Your video ends with not showing how to fix that, and you don't know what is actually causing it. So I spent 35 minutes watching to find out that I need to replace the unit.
