It is not a self storage facility. I bought a bunch of Christmas items at the closing sale and still have the big plastic Kmart bag. Back in the early 90s when I moved to Kenosha I got a bunch of blue spruce trees from the garden center that are not at least 25/30 feet tall. Also the Kenosha Shopko is now a self storage facility. Shopko always had good prices on cat food and soda.

Used to go to that Hills as a kid all the time. I remember waiting in line to get mine & my mom's Furbys during that craze. Still have hers. Miss the smell of popcorn, hotdogs, and relish. I miss my children now that I just turn 40. 😢

Crazy thing is they have demolished it just recently and now they are building a new gas station by the former pizza hut and a new grocery store for kroger by Kmart. God I miss Kmart and toys r us already

Yeah it's crazy i used to go this one almost all the time as a kid like 10 years ago, but now I'm that 19 and like this kmart has recently demolishing this one and turning it into a kroger from another kroger across the street, it makes me feel really nostalgic and sad that it's gone now.

Typically, stores would keep their broken carts around the back of the store in a hidden or caged area (I know this from working at Walmart). With that being said, that cage was probably used to store broken carts.

Now Kmart has 2 stores left in the continental US, a few stores in the Virgin Islands, one store in Guam and a large handful of stores in Australia and New Zealand. Pity they haven't expanded to the UK. It would help get them back on their feet and give Tesco, Morrisons and Aldi etc. some real competition if it happened now.
