Nope, all of the animation in the short was keyed by hand. I did film a lot of reference footage, though, in order to help with some of the weight and timing.

Good question! Since there's a lot of different environments and variations of characters across the short, I'll just use one of the later shots as an example. In that shot, we have 3 characters and the throne room environment. The triangle counts for all those are: Main character: 321,820 Triangles Antagonist: 754, 702 Triangles Big Monster: 1,632,838 Triangles Environment: 7,580,131 Triangles I should note that because I was rendering the film and not needing to have it run at real time, I could be very sloppy with how many polygons I could get away with. In all likelihood, I probably went a bit overboard baking in detail that I really didn't need to.
