on your first video you showed the rear tube by lowering the headliner. How do you remove the weather seal from the door opening? Is it pressed on or is it on there with and adhesive?

I just bought a siphon hand pump from amazon, filled up a bucket of water then disconnected drained tube thats connected to plug in firewall. Connect the outlet side of siphon to the firewall plug, then put hose from inlet side of siphon into bucket of water. Then just pump away till water comes out from outside of vehicle. I did all 4 corners for the low low price of 19.99 hahaha

So mine is leaking by the front drivers pillar is that this problem? Why does it do that is it clogged?

I already pulled the plugs and cleaned a ton of debris from a couple in the back [trunk] and water flows through. I removed glove box and did the same, then the same on driver's side. Water flows like new EXCEPT there is still leakage on both sides coming from the rear corners right above the mini window and behind the handles -- is that the same fix?

DO NOT BLOW AIR IN FRONT TUBES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I''M A MASTER MECHANIC FOR NISSAN AND BEEN FIXING THIS PROBLEM FOR MANY YEARS NOW. IF U BLOW A LOT OF AIR ON THE TUBE, IT WILL COME OFF THE FITTING INSIDE THE FINDER AND CAUSE THE WATER TO RUN INTO THE CAR INSTEAD OF ON THE GROUND. U HAVE TO PUT SOME PURPLE STUFF OR SOMETHING STRONG AND USE A PIECE OF WIRE OR WEED EATER LINE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO PUSH INTO THE HOLE UP TOP AND WORK IT DOWN TO U UNCLOG THE LINE. NEVER BLOW HIGH PRESSURE AIR INTO IT!!!!!!!

My sunroof drains are clean. Water flows out normally front and rear. I cleaned them just to be sure, but there was no debree. Trunk sides get full of water and roof gets wet in front pillars still.

I have neve had water leaking into a sunroof. Why aren't they sealed with the rubber lining. Thanks for the video. My mom's Altima has mold growing in the passenger front side. I wish I looked it up first because I took the rear seats out looking for the leak.

Wow! Thank you so much. I just bought a Maxima at an auction which was in great shape except i noticed the wet carpets. Your 3 part video is the best so far. Getting into the headliner seems to be better than doing the tube from the bottom end in the back.

I love the red bull and beer comment! But you should also spray wd40 down each drain 2x a year... i usually prefer just before winter and just before spring... but i know the seasons are off by a month recently depending on your location. Good luck.

Thanks a lot buddy. it was my issue. I used a strew in the sunroof inlet to be able to blow air with an air compressor. that worked and water started dripping! I tested the drain by pouring some water on the roof and I could see the water draining through the inlet and running out! excellent. problem solved. thanks again!

Why can't the damn thing seal when it's closed?!!! I never use my sunroof but somehow there are leaves in there and it's clogged because heavy rains always leak into the car. I'm about to caulk it shut and duct tape it!

It leaks down to the carpet and gets the whole inside moldy. I swear there is mold on the windows and it smells.

Thanks for this! I noticed some discoloring , dampness on the headliner near the driver side back of my Altima Coupe. I was able to pull down the headline a bit to see this tube, plastic thing-a -ma jig. Poured some water in that channel, yep...thats where the leak / clog is! Now I have to get full access to it...ugh. Least I know the issue I guess. I'll be tackling this tomorrow. Thanks again for the video.

My 2010 Altima Coupe, i just noticed the back driver side beige headliner was discolored and damp, I did the front 2 drain holes...now I see how the back is - basically a pain in the ass. ugh. Oh well. Thanks for this, the video helps!

I'm getting a puddle of water behind drivers side seat on the floor in the back seat. Could not figure out where it was coming from but it must be the drain tube is clogged at the bottom I'm guessing now.

Actually this is a common problem for a lot of cars..... The leaks come from the overflow of the clogged drain. Thanks for sharing .

Yeah, I just recently purchased a used 2005 Nissan Quest with a built in aquarium in the roof that the dealer so curteously threw in free of charge. That is the last vehicle I will ever buy with a damn sunroof!

Nice video. I did the water test and my sunroof drain tubes are clear, but I'm getting water all over the driver side floorboard from somewhere else. I have a 2010 coupe. Any ideas?

Hope you found the problem If not check your AC drain hose underneath the carpet

@@yomoms16 The AC Drain is actually on the passenger side and not at all likely to overflow to the driver's side. I'm not saying it's impossible but it is not at all likely that would happen. You can easily check it though by removing the same plastic panel you would pop off when you change the cabin air filter, the AC drain tube is very easy to see at that point and if your ac was on and draining at the time you can also look under the car on the passenger side and will see the drip pretty easily. Hope this helps..

Great 3 videos, thanks a million. Agreed...very poor design for the rear drains! Was hoping I could just find where the rear drains exit in the wheel wells and blow compressed air from there, but from what you explained it would blow a bunch of leaves and gunk trapped in the "trays" all up into and behind the headliner creating a real mess. So basically this design has open water sloshing around in those trays that are not sealed boxes...ridiculous design! Thanks again for making these videos.

My 2013 altima is leaking on the passenger side at the top. Only leaks sometimes. I've noticed it much worse or not leaking at all if I'm parked on a uphill or downhill grade. I'm guessing the tube prob need drained. Didn't even know they existed. Great vid. Thx

Can't you just blow the compressor directly on the front hole, without inserting a smaller tube?

the tube was to ram bigger chunks out first. yes you could but I had whirley birds in mine.

how did you resilcone them? what part? it only looks like the silcone is on the bottom of the white tray to adhere it to the silver track. is there another part on top of the tray that should have silicone?
