I remember asking about 'The Cannons' (2m11s) in the 50s. This image is going back many a year. I recall being told they were melted down as scrap for the 'war effort' Not sure whether WW1 or 2. Trams on the road past the Talbot. Platers & Stampers nearby.

I grew up here, have so many memories here, first few minutes are the main road just below where I lived , where the Frontier Club use to be, Bradford Road, then the Drives takes us into Batley High Street, just before that he goes past Malcolm Mills on the left hand side , then up the steep road into the high street, then past where Tesco's use to be ( don't know if it's changed) then the Batley Market Area, next to the Batley Library and the Police Station and Batley Town Hall , Great Video 😊

This is amazing, thank you so much for the video! I was born in Harrogate, Yorkshire and moved to America when I was 12 years old ( long story) back in the late 80s. Anyway My father had remarried and fathered two children a boy and a girl. After many many years of searching for them I found them a couple years ago and we reconnected. They live in Morley and this is why this video means so much to me. ❤ Is there any way that you can do a drive-through Harrogate? I used to live on North Lodge Ave and my elementary school was right up the street. Oh how I miss those days, never liked it here in the US and I wish I could go back home. 😢
