When my beloved wife was still with me she always ask me to sing this song for her. Now that her spirit is with our Almighty, everytime I visit her I sang this song to her. I love and miss her so much. I cannot wait when God call me to go home be with the love of my life and serve God together. As the verse in the Lords Prayer says, As it was on Earth and it is in Heaven.❤🎉😊

I had the pleasure of recording this performance. Mr. Martino sings with the (now defunct) Claridge Orchestra. I don't recall who scored this arrangement, but this is my favorite rendition of the Irving Berlin classic.

@@TexasRose50 I am and was just curious how that song resonated with you so much that you felt the need to "adopt it " I think that's so cool because it's a favorite of mine as well . I'm 65 now and and your words remind me of a time when I was 16 I worked with my dad for years at a Boston hotel and we would drive in together every morning and he would always say those words to me . Be careful of three things 1- If you lose money you've lost Nothing , 2- If you lose your health you've lost Something , but If you lose your name you've lost Everything . I taught my son and grandson that same lesson

@slyspy9819 wow, wise dad you had. Thanks for sharing your story. Me adopting the song when I was so young, had to do with people telling me I would never be as smart as my brother and I would never be as pretty as my sister. That was do hard to hear being so young. And when I first heard this song, I just knew it was my song. Thanks again for sharing your story. I loved it. Take care and God bless.

I first heard about Matt Monro when I discovered that Karen Carpenter really loved his voice. Apparently she used to mimic his pronunciation, and if you listen carefully, you can hear it. She had just the slightest British pronunciation on some words. Apparently, from what I understand, Richard wasn't keen on it, but she loved it, and so, he did not try to change her pronunciation. Matt had a really smooth, clear, beautiful voice, so it's a joy to listen to him and put the whole picture together of his influence on Karen.
