Dear Matt, Nice video! I learned several tools from it, unfortunately, there are some tones that are not available at my XPS-30, I tried to fill with a similiar tone, but the final result wasn't the same. You could make more videos.

Great video. It gets to the important stuff quickly and the demo on how to use it at the end is great 👍🏻. Keep up the good work.

Very helpful, thank you. I’m trying to see if I can assign a separate voice to my Roland AX Synth Keytar that I have plugged in through midi to the Juno. If you have a video on that I’d love to see it.

Matt, I am late to the party but have had a DS-61 for years and never figured out how to work it. I watched your video and spent the whole weekend perfecting what you showed. Dude- my cover band mates are going to be blown away by what I show them for some of our songs. I've wanted to scale back some backing tracks and this is EXACTLY what I needed to get the job done.

Thank you for this tutorial! How can you browse your patch sounds in PATCH LIST by category (CAT)? On my Juno DS I see PATCH LIST sounds grouped by Patch -> DS / PRST / GM / EXP /USER. Is there anything I need to change in the settings to be able to group sounds by category? Thank you!

Stupid question. When naming the performance... how can I delete the already existing name? Anyone know? There seems to be no "delete" button to delete a letter, so I'm not sure how to rename things efficiently as opposed to spinning the wheel for each already existing letter... I'd like to just wipe the whole name, and start from scratch with some short basic naming schemes. Just got the board the other day for 500 CAD (only been played maybe 40 times). Steal of a deal. Just trying to figure out some basics while I wait for my friend to send me the manual in the mail (he forgot to bring it with him).

When you press "Menu", there's a pop-up where you can delete or insert characters.

What if I dont turn the keyboard switch ON on the keyboard column and instead set all the part's ch to ch 1 and the performance mode tx/rx ch to ch 1 will it still make and play the sounds? I'm a bit confused of that keyboard switch coz on earlier synths layering is done by setting the all the parts ch you want to layer on the same ch no keyboard switch needed

Thanks a lot for your so useful video! I have a question about the "OUTPUT" tab. What is the meaning of 1/2/3/C/R checks? I deducted that when I use 2 o 3 instruments, I need to check a different number for each different instrument. What if I use 4 or more instruments? I cant't make it sound properly.

This is SOOOO helpful!!!! I bought this keyboard a while back and am still learning how to use all the functions properly. What makes it annoying is that the manual that comes with the keyboard gives nearly no info or step by step information for doing things like this, so me with nearly no experience in this genre of music and trying to learn it am finding that good KZbin tutorials like this are a billion times more helpful than the manual.

Question...does the basic tone editing capabilities have graphics types or just numbers ? exemple ...like the old juno g, you would have tone structure choices or filter cutoff in either a graphic style or just in some numerical values etc...I'm just curious I wasnt able to see any videos exploring the basic tone or patch editing capabilities on the DS! the only thing I suspected is that it seems to bear alot of similarities to the old JunoG!
