The harmonies are so good. They had all the bits already.

the Beatles vocals offered such varieties seldom found but they had it in spades giving way to a multitude of combinations throughout their recordings...not mediocre by a long shot

Fascinating to hear the raw versions of these classic songs. Em Cooper won the 2024 Grammy for Best Music Video using Lennon's song.

After listening to this and other acoustic renditions like the Escher demos I'm reminded just how good musicians they were and how well their songs stand up even "raw" without reversed tape loops and mic'd drums and tape speed effects, etc. George's acoustic demo of While My Guitar Gently Weeps that is enshrined on the Love album (with an additional verse!) is one of my favorite songs period. I wish they all lived long enough to want to come together (see what I did there 😂) and do an Unplugged concert.

I've always wondered how they created the harmonies? Was it just natural "by eye", like they could just hear and reproduce it, or was it all charted out and practiced? Anyone know the answer?

The loose care free within perfection is what you can hear but the acoustic guitar gave the other three exactly the way John Lennon wanted this song to sound like not just musically but the atmosphere in an emotional sense

John wrote this. He's on acoustic and doing lead vocal here. This is somewhat unusual a song for the Beatles, as it is in a 'black' key: E flat minor. E minor would have been easier to play I would think. I wonder: Why pick a harder key to play in? To match the voices? To give a particular sound? E mInor would have been easier, but maybe it sounded too 'bright' to them for this 'sleepy' song? "PAUL AND RINGO: ARE YOU THERE? CAN YOU HELP US? CAN YOU ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS?"
