The chick and hen are my Market Bestsellers. I put a golden egg and the little chick inside. Great conversation starter! The Pattern was posted 3 months ago on KZbin by Natki_Creative_Studio. I use yarn to fill the inside pouch when I stuff the chicken. My pouch is made with acrylic yarn. (Please, lose the annoying background music)

Did you do a gauge swatch for the jumper? That might have helped you. It looks like you used a heavier wt yarn than it called for? Jiat a thought for the future to save you the disappointment 😊
@pieces_of_scrap2 күн бұрын
I agree, I should've swatched, but I did use the same weight of yarn she recommended in her pattern. I definitely still need to learn from this 😂

I understand the disappointment. I started to crochet a temperature blanket last year, got half way through, and decided i hated it. It sat for months and I was distraught (overexageration here lol) at the though of ripping it, BUT i finally did. I found a patchwork blanket pattern that I LOVE to repurpose the yarn. I am so glad i made the decision even though frogging a lot of work is discouraging, making something you really love makes it worth it.

I agree that getting paid fairly for my time keeps me motivated too. Otherwise everything is a gift, which is cool too. However when you have expenses to pay & don't ask for a fair wage for your time to do that, that's mistreating yourself. Respect yourself & others will too.
@pieces_of_scrap10 күн бұрын
I'm definitely still working on that!
@georgiacorey95410 күн бұрын
I've had that problem with the Moss stitch drawing up smaller than I thought it would too. I started doing 4" swatches to test stitches & yarn before doing garments, it has helped.
@pieces_of_scrap10 күн бұрын
That's definitely helpful. I tend to be too lazy to make swatches when patterns call for them 🙈
@georgiacorey9549 күн бұрын
@@pieces_of_scrap awwe I get it. For me, I decide that it takes more time to work up a garment & then rip it out versus doing the swatch. Best wishes.

Sorry the jumper didn’t work out. It is so frustrating to work on a project for a long time and not be happy with the result. I am glad that this doesn’t only happen to me 🤣. I had a time where I made 3-4 garments in a row that just didn’t turn out right and it was so discouraging. Love the jellyfish plush-so cute!
@pieces_of_scrap10 күн бұрын
Yeahhhh I'm pretty sure that is exactly why I stopped crocheting years ago. It was so discouraging to finish something just for it to be too big for me to wear. That's why amigurumi is so satisfying!

I’m going to have to try those coasters and your basket. Do you recommend cotton yarn for coasters since drinks sweat?
@pieces_of_scrap16 күн бұрын
I would recommend any yarn that is easy to wash. That way, you can prevent mold from accumulating since the coasters might get damp.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback about our Giraffe pattern! I want to answer some of your questions about it. There is a note in the pattern about adjusting the feet to where you want them to be, because everyone has different tention and that’s why sometimes the feet aren’t in the right spot where we intended them to be. Also the head shouldn’t flop down that much, I’m mot sure if you stuffed the head but I personally don’t stuff the head at all so it can stay up better. Thank you for reviewing our pattern! I hope my answers helped a bit! 🤗🩵
@pieces_of_scrap19 күн бұрын
Thanks 🩷 I did stuff the head a little bit and I think that is the main reason it flopped over. It's still a cute pattern!

I’m glad you shared your journey with us. It’s a learning curve. I think you lost money because it was a small event, it was super hot, and you should up your prices with no fear about anything. I think it was good this first one was small because you can re-think, reprice and be better prepared for the next one. It’s hard work and you’re doing a good job. You will get better and better as you work. You’re learning! Definitely price every item individually . The groupings should be in your strategy when you price but not out there for customers. Use your spreadsheet to plan pricing and price each item accordingly. ❤ We all start somewhere and you’ll be fine.

Hey Cassie just wanted to pop in and explain about being asked the same thing multiple times. Basically, when you fill out the questionnaire, the nurses typically input it into the medical record and so they’re reviewing that what they’re putting in is correct and then when the doctor comes in, we verify that what the nurse put is also correct. You would be surprised at how many errors, there can be or misunderstanding patient related information so as frustrating as it is, that’s why why we asked the same thing so many times it’s just verifying that the information that is in there is your information and that it is correct. Because we also see so many patients at the same time a lot of times the wrong information can get put in and so so we call it trust but verify, a.k.a. make sure that was the previous person put in there is correct. Also your whole hospital experience sounds so frustrating. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. But glad you are ok.
@pieces_of_scrap23 күн бұрын
I appreciate the explanation! But I think you misunderstood my initial frustration. The nurse who asked me if I took any at home medication asked me 5 times in the same initial conversation she had with me when we first met. She would ask, and then ask different questions, then loop back around to "Do you take any at home medication" and she did this at least 5 times. That's where my frustration with that nurse came from. It's like she wasn't listening to me! 🫣
@JaniVMD23 күн бұрын
@@pieces_of_scrap ohhh yeah that would drive me crazy. Although I have been there, sometimes when it’s a crazy night and between 2-6 am my brain goes in circles 🥲 so I can’t judge them especially considering they were probably understaffed. But when you are in pain and are the patient it can certainly be frustrating.

One of the side effects of the vaccine is appendicitis. I know many people who’ve had to have appendectomys.
@pieces_of_scrap23 күн бұрын
That wouldn't surprise me, but I don't know why the vaccine would cause me to get appendicitis so late after I've gotten the vaccine. I think I got appendicitis mostly from genetics, like I was saying, my mom was 1 of 9 children, and 8/9 of those children all had to have appendectomies.
@Jean-dk2xl24 күн бұрын
So unfortunate you had to wait at all for surgery. Appendicitis is dangerous. My daughter had suspected appendicitis, and she was immediately brought into surgery for an appendectomy. I asked why if it was only suspected, why they would remove it if they did not know for sure. His response was that it is better to remove a healthy appendix, than one that is burst. I immediately gave permission for the surgery. The appendix, when it was removed did show inflammation. So, it was the right thing to do. Glad that you are better now.
@pieces_of_scrap24 күн бұрын
That's what I was worried about too! I just thought, at any moment it could get worse and maybe it could burst if I had to wait too long for surgery! I'm just glad it's all over now.
