Love this. Wonder why the Time and MPH was higher for the GMC both times? Even the first race the GMC started later and appeared to almost catch up and ended with a faster time and MPH. Second race the GMC just walked away the whole time, why would the GMC be faster? Were both 8 speed? Did you ever check the total weight of both trucks? Did one have a full tank and the other almost empty? Does your Dad weigh a lot less? Better tires that made it hook up better? I have a 2019 GMC Sierra Denali 6.2 by the way.

@@freedomisntfree_44 that’s funny because I’ve race both the 2.7 and 3.5 ecoturds with my stock 6.2 and beat them both the 2.7 easily beat but I will say the 3.5 has me I’m the eighth but in the quarter he’s done with factory ford Tunning they fall off in upper speeds But with a tune they are quick I’ll say that but pound for pound 6.2 is better in stock form and aftermarket and you know it

I’ve never rebuilt a carb without using any carb cleaner or compressed air. And I always clean the outside before I open it up. Take that immulsion tube out and clean it.

Yea those are very slow times for the 6.2s. But that’s real world results for you. Funny enough car and driver was able to get a Denali through the quarter at 13.9 @100mph.

@redsoldierftcarson3 жыл бұрын
You don't need to count the turns out on the main jet, only the idle/mixture screws. That (pin) only goes into the throat of the carb and is known as the emulsion tube, you definitely need to take it out and make sure that the tiny holes along the barrel are cleaned out or it won't operate properly. And you only need to replace the jets if they are blocked (unclearable without damage) or visibly corroded.

That carburetor heater can unplug from the harness can't it?
@austincrumb11923 жыл бұрын
Yes it can, the first time through, I didn't realize that. But the second time through, I decided it would be about equal in level of effort, so I stuck to what I knew. But if yours is stuck or the nut is stripping/rounding, I'd say definitely just unplug from the harness. Careful with the plastic though, I busted the brittle plastic clip on a similar one. 12:27 ish is the best angle I have.

You're right! That black Sierra is soooo slow, right?! (Ha! That was my Dad) Anyways, it's true, this is at Bandimere Speedway. 5800ft above sea level. This is also the first time either of us had driven anything on a drag strip, so our launches are not ideal. I promise those are both stock 6.2 L trucks though. Similar mileages too. I have another video showing just how incredibly similar these trucks are on my channel. This was more of a "Let's race them exactly how we'd be driving them from day to day" kind of race. It was tons of fun with some friendly banter involved. Thank you for watching!

Did y'all put the trucks in tow haul mode? It helps. A tune exhaust and intake would help a lot.
