Sigh, Jimi and myself were there at the filming. She is my great great grandmother at 140 years old there.

Cole Porter had a line -- "You're the tops! You're Leonard Zelig", but then he couldn't find anything to rhyme with "Zelig".

Woody Allen knows his stuff. This lady, Ada 'Bricktop' Smith was a genuine legend, as was her nightclub, 'Chez Bricktop', in pre-war Paris. Mentor to the likes of Josephine Baker and Mabel Mercer, she didn't just know Cole Porter, he wrote 'Miss Otis Regrets' especially for her to sing. Oh, and one time, she had John Steinbeck thrown out of her club for 'ungentlemanly behaviour' - he responded by sending her a taxi full of roses as an apology. A different world, from which this Virginia-born queen regnant deserves to be remembered.

Only bad thing about the Hendrix family is that fake sister Jainey and her money grubbing ways
@goldenlady1213 Жыл бұрын
You're absolutely 100 percent right on that one !!!!!!! Everybody keeps saying she's his sister when in reality she's his step sister. The late great Jimi Hendrix' REAL siblings Leon,Joseph, Kathy, and Pamela have never ever been given the proper respect they deserved. Leon is a famous musician and artist in his own right and yet he's limited in what he's able to say or do in regards to his OWN brother's legacy. Leon IS Jimi's real family Janney is NOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Directly or indirectly, he was killed by the business he was in...I'm thinking Michael Jeffrey and whatever mob ties he had, did Jimi in.

There's was a documentary stating that Jimi Hendrix had been murdered. It's a coincidence BOTH Jimi Hendrix and boxer Sonny Liston both died from ALLEGED drug overdoses in the year 1970, when in fact both were murdered

I truly wish someone would reach out to me and talk to me! I feel deeply in myself that Jimi was my last incarnation! There are many reasons for this. His sensitivity came through the guitar, my sensitivity is what I've been told is why I won't make it through this world. I've played out the lyrics to many of his songs in my life. He could handle more drugs than most at the time, I now have a really strong cannabis addiction. He used to think some devil or something was in him and pull his hair and cry, I too as all my friends and family know, keep talking about a devil controlling me and I cry and pull my hair. The love of his life, his other heart and golden rose Monika dannemann bears a striking resemblance to the girl I fell in love with 20 years ago and I'm soon to meet and share my life with. I'm too a left handed guitarist, but he knew what he wanted out of life and where he was going, I'm still discovering this. He was very spiritual as too am I. He started out as a wild man and became more spiritual towards the tail end of his life, I too was abit of a loveable rogue and becoming more spiritual. He was part Cherokee, I'm not native American but I have friends who are and I'm very connected and drawn to the native Americans. There's so much more, and I wish someone could here me and reach out, sometimes I feel I remember being there, alot of it, and passing and that there was a blond haired woman present as I slipped away into the next world. Please believe me, this is not me wanting to be like Jimi because of his guitar my friends, it's much deeper than that! Be strong, be true, be free and BE BEAUTIFUL! Stay safe my friends and build yourselves a dream! X

The way she talks reminds me of my great-aunts who also lived in Vancouver. Jimi used to come up to Vancouver from Seattle in the summer and spend time with his grandma. He even went to elementary school for a while in Vancouver. She's talking about seeing him play at the Pacific Colloseum, which was the big hockey arena in Vancouver and also doubled as a music venue for big acts.

Words of Wisdom, very intelligent women , Now you know where Jimi gets it from...
Man, if there is one thing i love it's when the interviewer gets excited and happy when Hendrix tells him they'll do Red house at the concert. Back then you couldn't stream the song so the only way to hear it would be to go to the concert. It made the song that much more special to hear it. It brought a deeper passion to music with people back then because of that fact. The fans and musical groups of the 60's were more connected because of this I think in my opinion. Definitely a once in a lifetime musical culture and movement in the 60's. Awesome.
