1:39 that's not the original "Am I evil" song from 1980, it must be some remake.

Love his music. I too, lost my son. Not to drugs. Not that that matters. As he said, everyone deals with loss. The loss of a child is a whole different level of loss & grief. It has been nearly 5 years. (Not covid related) As he said, I too am "getting on," so to speak. I think of the nursery rhyme. Humpty Dumpty, who fell off the wall, all the kings horses & all the kings men couldn't put him back together again. (Humpty Dumpty was an egg character) Well, my heart is like that it will always be so deeply shattered. He went through so much, and there were many medical errors. Horrible, neglectful errors. I actually could have likely won a lawsuit. Only problem. I was 66 when he passed. I truly thought I would die of heartbreak during the first few years. A lawsuit would have killed me. Reliving that trauma would have absolutely finished me. God bless Mr. Scaggs. The loss of a child is the worst thing any parent could ever go through.

Vai's great; even though he's one of the most jaw-droppingly virtuosic players on Earth he's always been about the music as a whole, not just a background for his solos. He had a column in one of the guitar magazines in the '80s and when everyone else was writing about speed and chops he was about finding your strengths and playing to them and really getting inside the music with little emphasis on technical stuff. I'm not crazy about blazing guitar solos all the time, but Vai really stands out among the shredders and seems like a pretty swell guy to boot

I´m gonna commit the ultimate Van Halen "sacrilege": I started listening to this band thanks to the Balance´s singles aired on MTV (around 1996). I was a young kid and got blown away by the tone. I fell in love with that guitar tone. And having listened to Sammy first, going back to their discography with Dave didn´t feel right (eventhough I enjoyed Eddie´s playing).
