Is there any instruction telling us how to configure ESPON printers with Papercut? we have the licenses but our local supplier didn't have any idea how to integrate:(

Righto, so normally your PaperCut reseller (your local supplier) will work with Epson and their local PaperCut Authorized Solution Center to help you. But if your supplier doesn't know this, you just need to ask them to contact their PaperCut Authorized Partner or Authorized Solution Center (they definitely know who that is if they're selling PaperCut) for guidance. The supplier simply needs access to Epson's manual from their PaperCut Authorized Partner or Authorized Solution Center (Epson have created their own PaperCut install process and manual that we don't manage). I've successfully installed EPSON with PaperCut but the IC card reader was to no avail and neither EPSON nor the PaperCut support helped:( Epson confirmed that the card is working with their card reader and tested fine with their web config where it reads the card info, but when we swipe the card on the device, the greeen light flickered then nothing happened, the PaperCut support insisted it was the Espon who needed to check further:( manually input the AD username and password still works

So many websites and services are described for people who already know the topic and don't need explainers. Well done!! Clear, explain what you do and then bread the sub-topics down and how your solutions fit. I'll use this a masterclass training video for how to do pitches and communicate business solutions.

How are this print driver softwares made and are they rewritable ?

Drivers are usually made by the makers of your printer. They tend to keep those locked down, so modifying them can be a bit tricky. If you're looking to add some amount of functionality to your drivers, you may find that our PDL transforms feature could help with that. Or, if you're just looking to keep your users on the latest version of the drivers, our Print Deploy feature could do the trick!

Hmm, yeah this defo sounds like strange behaviour. We tested printing from the web version of Office 365 in both Word and Excel and the user client popped up fine. Tested with Edge and Chrome. From your description, it sounds like PDFs within the browser are prompting the user client but not straight browser printing, which is weird. Curious if printing just a regular website (not a PDF or doc within Office365) yields any different results. Either way you will need to shoot us a ticket so we get the user client into debug to see what's going on. www.papercut.com/contact/

Is there a gradation of printing? For example, for black and white printing: 1-100 pages = 40 KZT per 1 sheet 101-500 pages = 30 KZT for 1 sheet 501 pages - and more = 25 KZT per 1 sheet Is it possible to implement this as printing flexibility?

Sorry about the delay - I needed someone super brainy to provide guidance on this question. We don't have this as a native UI option, but you could achieve this with a print script and adjust the cost based on total number of pages in the job. It sounds like you might be wanting the direct print queues on your workstations to be tracked by PaperCut - if so, take a look at this direct print monitor article: www.papercut.com/help/manuals/ng-mf/common/direct-printing-install/ If your PaperCut server is also a print server though, installing printers that are shared from that server is a cleaner solution than having to track all the direct print queues that are locally installed on devices. Hi I’m new to paper cut and I am trying to install papercut on a Konica Minolta device on a new primary site server installation and I get a connection timeout when deployed to the machine is there a config procedure I need to complete or have I missed anything. Any help would be very much appreciated

Hmm so this question might be in relation to you installing PaperCut MF, right? Ideally these deployments should be supported via your papercut reseller following the installation manuals. However it’s worth checking that firewall ports are open. Inbound (device connecting to PaperCut) 9191 9192 9195 (Required for SHA2 on MF v18.3 onwards) Outbound (connecting to the device) 50003 80/443 But if you're installing MF for the first time, your PaperCut reseller is your best pal!

Hey there! Thanks for commenting! That might be related to the macro that exists within the word document or Word not trusting a document that wasn't created on the local computer. Usually, Microsoft Word will open documents that it doesn't know whether to trust or not in a protected mode which limits functionality for things like editing and macros. I'd recommend first checking the properties of the word doc to confirm that it hasn't been toggled to read only access. Then from there, try to open it and see if it'll work for you! You may need to add the file as a trusted document using the "enable content" prompt at the top of the page, should Microsoft try to open it in Safe Mode. If that doesn't quite work for you, we'd love to hear from you via [email protected]!

On a shared computer, the printers will automatically be updated when a new user logs in. This includes removing printers that should not be available to the new user and also removing optional printers that the previous user selected to install.
