Good video. But lemme give some advice to those who want to add something else in this recipe: It would be better if you had better tea quality, such as Dark Chinese oolong or shri lanka tea. The basic earl grey from the bag is "the dust from the Chinese roads", compared to the good tea. And do not add animal milk into citric acid - you'll be left with the cottage cheese in your mug))

Excellent series!! I started playing around with mixing cocktails recently, and this cleared up a lot of things! As a side note, it's nice to see recommendations from someone who is UK-based. Many of the "value" bottles recommended by people in the US and elsewhere can be pretty pricey here.

The El Dorado and Gosling rums are poor choices for a mai tai. The best current recipe for imitating the original 1944 mai tai is: 0.5 ounces Appleton 12 year rum 0.5 ounces Plantation Xaymaca rum 0.5 ounces Plantation OFTD 69% rum 0.5 ounces Smith & Cross Navy Strength 57% rum 0.5 ounces Clement Creole Shrubb liqueur 0.5 ounces orgeat syrup 0.25 ounces demerara syrup 0.5 ounces lime juice Grassy agricole rums also have no place in a mai tai.

Thanks a lot for the amazing content! ❤ It would be great to know how much ice (in grams) should we use and how much total liquid should we expect to get in the end.

Ask your local coffee shop to put out their coffee grounds for sprinkling on the compost heap (never on the garden).

Hi Dan, Great Video! I'm doing an event next month and Espresso Martini has been requested for the menu. Think I will definitely use the concentrate method and have 25 people and no espresso machine! Did you put in 40g of Solo? Roughly 40ml? Many thanks

@@DANFELLOWScoffeecocktails Thank you I watched the other video too. However that is just with instant coffee rather than concentrate. If i were to use the Solo coffee concentrate (have just bought a carton to test with - woud you stick to your recipe at the beginning of this video of 40g/40ml of carton coffee concentrate? Thank you!

Hi Dan. Just found your channel. Very impressive set of drinks. Just a tip, in case it helps/applies to where you're at - pour to non alcoholic ingredients first. Thus, if a mistake was made mid way, at least you're not tossing out expensive stuff. But loving the videos and the energy you bring overall to the vids. Keep it up mate.

The Sipsmith and Paragon are very specific ingredients - any other more accessible gin and pepper ingredients that might accomplish a similar thing?
@scotlandgee

Sipsmith was likely the sponsor of Wimbledon, you could use any gin with or without a berry flavour

Excellent. Never heard of using saline. I’ll try it. I like to measure ingredients into the glass, finishing with squeezing a fresh lime above the glass and tossing half a lime into the drink. This coats the rim with oils from the lime zest. Also, I like Pierre Ferround dry curaçao. And a cherry. 😊
