I had my cat in my car. He’s chipped and was wearing a harness. I called everywhere. Vets, police, etc. I bet someone took him as their own. Any advice on how to get him back? It’s been over a year of looking.

I always thought that, but there is a neighborhood cat, that he has a weird look, I call him Popeye, cuz he looks at you with one eye open and the other closed (weird), they both work fine, and he wags his tail furiously, but he’s not going to pounce nor does rushes me, I put some food down and he eats it, but I heard he’s aggressive with the other neighborhood cats.

Some cats... like one of my weirdos... will also wag their tail when they're getting all of the things that make them very happy and they can't help but wiggle every extremity.

Looks like my friends cat

My cat once freaked the hell out when I wore a winter hat shaped like a maple leaf. I was in the kitchen sitting in a chair and he came out looking like Halloween Cat - back up, bottle-brush tail. He'd been running around in an agitated manner a few minutes prior but he was still young enough to do that 'cartoon cat' thing - running around blowing off energy so I didn't think anything of it. And then *I*I was freaked the hell out. i couldn't figure out what the problem was, then I remembered the hat--which I never dreamed would upset him. So I took it off and he stood there, and then he started walking very slowly toward me, and I made baby-baby what's the matter, what's wrong, I won't put the hat on anymore, I promise sounds, and I was like OMG the cat's going to attack me! But he didn't. So I just played it cool, acted unthreatening, stayed where I was. And he came over and I tentatively held out my hand and he sniffed it, and, I don't know, this was twenty years ago so I don't remember the details, but obviously he didn't kill me ;) He didn't attack or bite me, he calmed down but I was like WTH???

This!! When I was a kid and my parents let our cats outside we had a few go missing, likely from people trying to “rescue” them like this. (why my parents continued to let our cats out I’ll never know) Now that I’m an adult my cats live safely inside, this is a really important message.

You just need to know when we want treats, play, pets and second breakfast!

I take care of a feral feline colony. There used to be about a dozen cats here, but after trapping, sterilizing, vaccinating, and treating for parasites, one was so bad that he had to be put down, a bunch were friendly enough to be adopted, two brothers were given to me to foster until they can be adopted, and the rest were brought back and released. The colony is much smaller now, and we've we created insulated sleeping cubicles under a protective shelter. I mix up a hot meal for them every evening so they can go to bed with full warm tummies. Those "unsociable" cats are getting more sociable with every warm meal they eat! 😺😻😸
