Love how he can flip between conventional fretting with fingers to slide in the same solo. Sometimes switching within the 12 bars.

Taylor, who had been recommended to the Stones by Mayall, apparently told Jagger at a party that he was finished. The reason? He was falling deeper into drug addiction and wanted out. And he was excluded on writing credits. Also, one can imagine that the recording of 'Exile On Main Street' made it clear that much of his life was being wasted waiting around for Keith Richards to show up. And he was likely bored with the music. Sadly, hooking up with Jack Bruce and Carla Bley didn't amount to much. I wouldn't be surprised if he felt intimidated by the other players in that band. As for Ronnie Wood, well, he does play the court jester. But he is definitely no clown. I'm no fan of his guitar playing - he was much more effective as a bass player with the original Jeff Beck Group - but he knows his stuff. And let's face it, he was exactly what the Stones needed. And should Keith depart this world first, Ronnie will simply cross to the other side of the stage, remove a string from his guitar, and pick up the slack. Maybe then there will once again be room for Mick Taylor in the lineup.
