These videos are bloody sweet, love seeing the work in progress aswell as the break downs before and after. What I've found with higher scrub radius on non power steer cars is the car does inherently drive better as it should, but the weight on the wheel gains dramatically, even with playing with castor, camber and even kpi, there's a very fine line between all 4 of those effects at play to make it work. Also! To lessen wheel weight and gain clearance on a 13" rim, there is a 165/65 ns2r option, to suit the skinnier rim!

Please i'd love to learn more about suspension setups and how to set them! I want to make my miata as close as i can get, with as much oem parts as possible, to a japanese touge drift setup so i can go to practice on my local mountain pass an see in time how my modifications affect the handling of the car. Thank you very much for the hardwork!💪💪💪

I would love a summary video about the setup! a lot of the suspension guides online are for high horsepower cars (200+hp) and the ke70 is such a good platform for aggressive driving style so I would love to learn about the takeaway points on your setup

Was there a reason that you didn't weld support plate for the whole underside? For checking and adjusting the camber you can download an bubble level app. That steering geometry with big caster and extreme offset is really easy to see and feel on Go Kart that have exaggerated angles.
@GOTIME-COКүн бұрын
Yeah, reason I didn’t brace the whole thing is I didn’t want to make the whole lca too strong, if I smack the wheel into something I’d much rather the control arm was able to buckle than directly sending the force into the frame of the car. I figure this is plenty strong but not too strong of you get me Good shout about the app I’ll give that a try!

Dylan got a question, for a stock 4k what the preferable suspension setup that wont let the car bogging mid drift and one thing does jacking it like carolina squat might works for traction?? thanks
@jackhind4926Күн бұрын
Put a 4age in it
@GOTIME-COКүн бұрын
Hey hey So I’d say if you’re gonna be trying to drift the 4K which can absolutely be done (dm me on Insta I’ve got a vid for you) Then it’s all about removing grip. For starters I’d run a 165 or even 155 in the rear and probably 165 up front to keep it relatively balanced. Put the rear as low as you’re comfortable with and still have enough clearance and stuff as the arms start to lose their ability to articulate at lower heights in these which loosens the rear a lot. Bump your rear dampers to full stiff and then you could even run a bigger sway bar in the rear if you’re going all out. Then for the front; the stuff I’ve been talking about the last few weeks is all still applicable, getting the front end to slide will help a lot too cause most of your drift will be in the deceleration. Last I’d just say please don’t try it on the street as the commitment and speed for drifting a 4K in the dry is super sketch for the road. If you just wanna learn in the wet you really just need a welded diff and you’ll be on your way, no need really to pull all the grip out and probably safer on a 175 or 185 all round.

Super keen on your suggested learning summaries. I'm more experienced in the circuit scene rather than drift, but super interested nonetheless.
@Joel_HarrisКүн бұрын
after all of this you need to look at your tyre specs! Grippy semi's work for NA because you're driving through lines (was running 205/55/15 RE003) but going back to a normal (cheap) compound 195 in the front made the car drive better (looser but better) I think the less square side wall helped heaps and actually helped the car rotate onto that front wheel instead of just constant grip that the chunkier semi allowed. Depends on your driving style but maybe worth a test!
@GOTIME-COКүн бұрын
Thanks Joel! Yeah absolutely, I think all this will still work great with a burner on front but still wanted to see how well I could get it to work on a semi cause it’s nice to know the grip is there on turn in and when you hit the brakes
@Joel_HarrisКүн бұрын
@@GOTIME-CO yeah thats the difference, the confidence on turn in. around 10% of the time you will get wash out and it can go bad if you're not on the wheel haha
