It's best practice to keep your 25th word separate from your seed phrase. You're basically overriding the security of the 25th word by storing it along with your seed phrase. You could buy a separate plate just for that 25th word. Or you could find somewhere else to store the 25th word. But if someone finds your seed phrase and your 25th word, they'll have full access to your configuration. You don't want that.

Nope. There's no way to change an existing seed phrase. If you feel like your seed phrase has been compromised, you need to transfer your assets somewhere else and then set up a brand new wallet with a new seed phrase, and put your assets back on that.

If you pass the Recovery Check, then that is a pretty good indicator that you wrote your seed phrase down correctly. But there are more thorough ways in checking you 24 words. I would not really recommend putting your seed phrase into a computer or any other thing like that. The best way to thoroughly test your seed phrase is to set up your wallet, and then transfer a small test amount into the wallet. After that, you should reset the device. You can do this by entering the pin incorrectly three times. Once you have reset the device, you'll want to do a restore instead of setting it up as new. Use your 24 words to do this. After you have done the restore, you can re-add the account of the crypto that you used in Ledger Live and check your balance. If your balance is there, then you know that you have successfully restored. If you have successfully restored, then you have truly verified your 24 words that you have written down. Now you can start adding larger amounts of crypto to the wallet.

@@kushyisrael1652 once you’ve signed the transaction you can’t really cancel it. But with Ethereum, there are ways to cancel the transaction that is pending because it doesn’t have enough gas or something like that but most other cryptocurrencies it’s too late once you’ve signed an authorized.

Hey, I hear you. First off, I'll mention that China is not our enemy. We are not at war with them. We still trade with them. So they would more reasonably be looked upon as our rivals. But if any one is NOTORIOUS for spyware, tracewear, and constant surveillance, it is the US along with its five-eyes allies. So really we're not safe anywhere. So the two largest hardware wallet companies are Ledger and Trezor based in France and the Czech Republic respectively. I believe Coldcard is based in Canada. I don't know of any large US based companies that are making crypto hardware wallets, although I've heard there are one or two US based brands. Most crypto hardware wallets employ secure element chips. And most of those are made in Taiwan, so go figure. Keystone Pro 3s are made in Hong Kong, which is sort of China. Secure element chips undergo rigorous testing. But I'm not sure where these testing agencies are based either. I believe Europe. (EAL 5+ EAL 6+) The best thing we can do is trust in the process. Companies all over the world are making crypto hardware wallets that are presumably tested by 3rd party organizations. They have a self interest to make wallets that work, so to speak. I haven't heard any news stories about any wallets being mysteriously drained. Any hardware wallet on the market requires some level of trust on the part of the user. So it's basically up to you to decide how to minimize that trust. It's either that or start doing elliptic curve cryptography yourself with a pencil and a paper. And I would much rather trust a company that specializes in crypto hardware wallets than my own self.

Ledger is a joke compared to this. Complete ripoff what ledger gives you for the money.
