The built in sounds suck but Im not going to lie if this gives good dynamic range via midi this is a ridiculously good kit for the price. A separate hi-hat and 3 zone ride is insane for this price. Kind of wish I would have gotten this instead of the Alesis Nitro Pro I just bought but this brand is a bit questionable. Seems too good to be true in my honest opinion. I feel like this e-kit may not last you very long before issues start to come up.

"Why was Lars not on this show?" Lars was going through personal problems and had a nervous breakdown, was in no condition to perform if you know what I mean...
Everything was all good till the "joey jordison, eat your heart out" comment. Joey was more than a drummer for slipknot. You wouldn't have a majority of slipknot songs if it weren't for joey. Oh and ya joey was better

I’ll never understand what Neil ever heard in those horrible sounding red sparkle DW’s. They may have sounded a bit better without coated drumheads. Neil had been convinced he was a jazz drummer in a rock drummers body courtesy of Freddie Gruber. The only DW kit of Neil’s I liked were his Snakes & Arrows drums but that 18" suspended floor tom he used had lower end tonality but it had absolutely no bottom end like his 22” Tama Gong Bass drum. All of his DW 18" suspended toms were like that………just meh. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Neil and what he did for the world of drumming but after Neil met Freddie he no longer had any memorable drum parts. Neil’s drumming on TFE is boring. None of their material after Presto used any electronic drums unless it was a special effects trigger. His drum parts after Counterparts is good but definitely lacking his bombastic style. Anyways. That’s my take on Freddie Gruber. He was nothing more than a snake oil salesman.

as a someone who’s been learning the drums for about 7-8 months with an outdated kit, your video was so helpful on influencing my decision to buy the mps-850, i can’t say anything about the long term durability as i’ve had them for only a week as of writing this but i’ve been using your video as a resource to see what i could play on the kit(s) i have as i haven’t found any other drummer as skilled and honest as you on the same e-kit. thank you so much for making this review 🙏

The Zultan Dark Matter Series is pretty good for all kind of Rock and Pop. I owned the 20" Ride which was one of the best Rides i've ever played - but unfortunately it did't match to the rest of my set. The two cymbals i like to recomand are the 18" DM China and the 14" DM Splatter Crash. They CAN be played loud - but they don't need to. So even when you play Jazz you can enjoy them as Effect Cymbals. Compared to other brands Thomann offers the Zultan Cymbals to a very moderate price. The Quality Control is not in Turkey and not in Treppendorf - it's at your home. So i always order three pieces of each Zultan cymbal and keep the best one.

I too want to know what’s this Pro business about. I just bought one over Christmas but saw no Pro available. Also, i see now difference in them on paper. The Pro box is much bigger tho. Nevermind, i see the Pro Pak comes with the two cases. The regular Gryphon doesn’t. The larger gray colored case is called the IFI Traveller and can be had on amazon. The smaller form fitting case is only at IFI, but amazon sell Miter cases for this model which appear nicer anyways.

Chad really is something. So under the radar for quite a few, although the drumeo performances have certainly helped in that regard lol. SSS+ tier with some tremendous abilities for active listening, being bold, and ability to pivot / inprovise / anticipate. His 40+ years playing, certainly he hasn't slacked at all.
