I heard that the Lagonda company was started by William Gunn, an American. The name comes from Lagonda Creek in Ohio.

Not quite as antiquated a machine as that annoying soundtrack would suggest. A/c and electric windows in 1957 - a supremely elegant machine (only surpassed by my Phantom VI, also acquired from the Real Car Company. Thanks Ray and Sue)

I had a 1948 example in Silver. Bought in 1971 for £550 it was utterly reliable. it is still on the road today. Google JKB973 for pictures of it.

The correct chassis number is actually B 102 MR I remember doing some work to this car a few years ago when it was in the USA, it was incredible on the road and very capable . I hope it finds a good new home soon!

in the last series of The Avengers when Steed was assisted by Tara King, Steed drove a Yellow mid twenties Silver Ghost in this exact bodywork style with a Aluminium bonnet, this Silver Ghost is in better condition

What happened to the polished sill strips on either side? They’re missing, and at some point during a repaint, someone else forgot to paint the waist moulding alongside the bonnet.
