For some reason..ive found the 3tc to be more reliable than the 2tc. Not sure why though? Grew up as a kid of the 80s and had a few im my life

@@KingBiggie it all depends on your intended use. On their website it shows you the powerband of each cam on their respective pages. In summary however, typically the lower the duration of the cam, the less overlap it has which usually shifts the power curve lower in the rev range and vise versa. In the real world i’ve seen the 264 and 274 used alot in street applications where the lower power band is still NEEDED for daily operations but a little extra top end is WANTED. Remember, it’s allowing more air mass and fuel to enter the engine which will yield more power. The 284 has noticeably more overlap and a good bump in duration over stock and is usually associated with more performance. It’s also introducing more scavenge which “hits” past 3000 or so rpm which relays into more power midway to up top. While there’s a ton of these on the street, they can be dogs to use daily. Higher compression is a must if you want some kind of power to get out of the hole before 3000 rpm. The 284-hl is a “high lift” version of the standard 284. It can be used for high comp NA or boost. Remember though, large overlap and boost don’t typically like to play well together unless you’re either A.) throwing alot of boost in there or B.) the engine is constantly living at high rpm. If staying NA, very well thought out induction and exhaust systems are key to getting the most of this cam to maximize on the scavenge effect, and as stated before, higher than stock compression. Do these interchange with the Chrysler -Mopar starters? The same thing applies to old Dodge as new, the new mini starters bolt right up to the old blocks.

What is pin order? I have seen 2 differend pinouts. Do you have pull-up resistor? Thank you for great infomation for 3tc

There are indeed two different pinouts for these. I always test before I send any out and make sure to put the appropriate diagram on the instructions I provide. I also do use a 1.2K-ohm pull up resistor with these.

Loving that sound! It makes me super happy to see videos of someone building an old Corolla. I am currently restomodding a 77 Corolla coupe I bought in highschool. I've been debating on this kit as well so I'm happy you did such an in depth series of the install process!!

Does the sensor have to be orientated the same as yours or could it be turned around 180 degrees?

The sensor does not have to be mounted like mine and can indeed be rotated out 180deg. From the time of filming this to now the sensor is rotated 63deg clockwise from what you see in the vid. It’s depends highly on the ecu and the orientation of the crank trigger. The cam sync has to “hit” in between cyl1 TDC events.
