What was Dom's story after he got out Marines? What kind of car did he park the Pontiac for? When did he pass?

Would VA or the State of Michigan chip in $ towards the build? You have done a top job so far, don't forget to put aside a little time for your lady.

In Canada, Pontiacs were little more than Chevrolets, with Chevrolet drivetrains.

Find a one-piece windshield used on the 1950 Olds 88 and ditch that stock split windshield. We did this to Pontiacs and Chevs back in the day. My '51 Pontiac coupe had a smoking sick s-8 engine caused by loose piston pins grooving both sides of every cylinder; installing a 1954 OldsV-8 bored to 348ci solved all the problems.

Actually Thats Not as Bad as you Think, The hardest Part your going to have is fabricating, Floor supports, I would put a all state search out at junk yards for those You Might be surprised, There might be some around, A lot of different Models will fit, I restored My 67 Chevelle 300 , Because their were only 2100 made, and just about all of them are gone, I rebuilt cowl, inner an outer fender wells/rear quarters fenders door skins windshield pillars rear trunk panel, floors trunk pan, both door Pillars, Just stick with it You be fine, Good luck

The use of an Edmunds Intake recalls my youth in the late 1940's and early 1950's. Edmunds was a very powerful force in early hot rodding and some kinds of racing. The Straight 8 were never super HP machines but they great smooth power mills with good torque. I w 13:32 ould use a reground or new higher performance cam. And of course modern headers make a world of difference. As far as finding ultra rare aftermarket heads, it's better to put your money into the old reliable route of Porting, Polishing and Relieving. As well as if possible installing larger multi angle valves. A professional must do this job. The most important thing I'd to maintain the Broad very drivable Hp and Torque curves. BTW, The nation's largest and by far BEST celebrations of 50's era cars and culture is LEAD EAST held every year in NJ near NYC. They have TONS of fully restored and "works in progress" cars always attending from like 29 state and Europe. They have continuous Doo Wop and Rockabilly, A Prom, Out doors dancing and parts sales. Just a heads up.....

They look real classic with full white walls and the Caps polished up. It’s cool at night when the Indian head lights up. You should keep all the old parts from the original and make a patina build out of the Texas car. Just hammer and press out old damaged panels and refit. Just a winter Beater type deal. Good luck👍👍

Glad to see you on this project.I know how you feel about the car,but dang if I wouldn't fix the parts car.I just did a '51 Chieftain four door, first one I've ever done. Be patient, take your time, you can do it. It ain't that tough. My car had floorboards as bad as yours, but my trunk was worse.I really enjoyed doing the metal work. I can't wait to see the final results.

@@icemancometh8679 The only thing I can tell you is to take it to a competent machine shop and let them determine what,if anything, can be done. There are a few KZbin videos of this being done. If it were me,I would be looking for another block if you want to keep it original. That is the course I would take as I am not a fan of engine swaps that weren't designed for that car.

@andyjones9386 The last 2 times I towed another car to get it worked on.(1989 PontiacGrand Am flex plate)They bailed on me or I found crooks. But I know what you mean an engine place. Before this I've heard welding and putting bolts in it.
