Still have that old parachutist model with the strange curved blade. Pretty beat up after so many years, but a nice knife!

I would buy it if it was real layered steel not fake laser gravered pattern. Whole purpose of layered steel is to have hard 60+ HRC steel at the core of the blade and more soft like 55 HRC tough steel as outer layer for protection.

What was the original MSRP for the 71 Gardener? I'm finding them used in USA for $150+, but some sourced from Japan are under $100.

Well scripted . Stumbled across this model and need a collector perspective on it. Some are still floating in the market. Might consider getting one. Good job in the video

I carry an S111 very often on the victorinox belt hanger with the 40cm chain as part of my daily rotation. I love that little guy. It's an original Wenger. It has the smooth EVO grip which I prefer. The rubber inset ones peel off as they age with use. I have a Wenger S18 that is starting to suffer from peeling but I still carry it.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE CRYING ABOUT THE MISSING PHILLIPS HEAD - If the Phillips head is so important for you, there are models for that!! One is Cybertool L & other is the Swisschamp. Cybertool L is the Handyman+screwdriver. Swisschamp is Handyman+screwdriver+magnifying glass. But most importantly, why on earth would you ask for another Philips screwdriver when it already has 3 flathead screwdrivers of different sizes?? and that too in the back tool position which everyone knows can easily bend & mess up the liners with a little amount of torque applied?? and at the cost of the corkscrew?? You can easily find the Phillips screw everywhere. But you won't find a corkscrew anywhere else. Moreover, the Phillips screws are almost redundant today. There was model called Craftsman which was a Handyman with Phillips head in place of corkscrew. Victorinox had to discontinue it later on which proves that the Phillips head at the position of corkscrew is a terrible idea & people aren't interested in it!! If you look further, you can see why the Huntsman is way more popular than the Fieldmaster, why the Climber is more popular than the Supertinker & why the Spartan is more popular than the Tinker. Please do your research before going whinning about everywhere.

Have a B&H made version and the Victorinox version. The B&H version has some sort of blade issue, I'll get around to fixing it eventually, I'm cautious as it's more difficult to replace these days. The Victorinox is a little rounded on the tip but after years of good usage it hasn't made any difference so I'm leaving it as it is. The Victorinox has gone into semi retirement now as I'd hate to loose it. They are great knives, pretty compact, good blade size and the awl is very useful. The scales are the most grippy and practical I've had on a Victorinox even better than the Ranger Grips.

Do you also have the Dutch army knive made by Victorinox? You can find it as Victorinox KL, 87 to 92 is writen as for exhample KL89. Those have an engraving rectangle on front.

What i understood from comparing it to the huntsman that made me want to seap to the ranger is that on the back one groove is wasted on the huntsman, the ones connected to the saw, and on the ranger 2 new tools were added on the back, not only did they utilize the new groove from the file, but also the one on the saw, that made me appreciate it a lot more and made me start to get ocd from looking at my huntsman lol
