Don't diss the finale season, Rebecca Sugar was really stressed at this time. Cartoon Network was gonna shut down the show after the Ruby and Sapphire wedding for the gay marriage issue. She had to beg to get more episode slots. Because of the hatred of the world the show died.

I know this is an old video but it’s funny how you point out some of the flaws of the show, and I get what you mean by missing plots and opportunities (like Bluebird and Jasper which definitely could’ve been handled better). But the show’s entire plot was to finally look into Steven’s mental state after everything that’s happened. After the effects of the Diamond’s actions and everyone else’ lives. And I like to believe that if given more episodes that Future would’ve been a lot better (since Rebecca really had to work with what she had).

No I agree this show is bad I get what they were trying to do but the way they executed it really got on my nerves. It’s not just Spinel so many things feel contrived as hell and so many characters feel out of character including Steven. Him having ptsd makes sense but so many things in this series feel manafctured to get him to where they want to go. They wrecked one of the best Father and son duo’s with hard to swallow Bs. Amethyst for some reason never picks up on Steven’s issues even though that was the whole point of What’s your problem in the original show and I loved that. And while I can appreciate the idea of the gems needing to support Steven and help him with his trauma including the Diamonds, the ending with him leaving Beach city doesn’t work for me. To summarize they turned the cheerful and goofy Steven I loved watching into a generic angsty teenager who suddenly hates everything about his life and I didn’t like that. The reason I loved the original show was because of how different he was from the norm and I was happy that even as it got to the end he was always that loveable goofball at heart. Again exploring his trauma is not a bad idea but it really feels like they didn’t know how to get him there naturally.

Two minutes in and bros argument is quite literally wrong as it could be. The entire reason that the episodes are slow and don't focus on big stuff is because it's the little things that made Steven have that entire mental breakdown, all of the pent up emotions and frustrations that he's bottled up for who knows how long. He reaches a breaking point last episode. "Erm... I don't like it because it doesn't deal with more physical fights and instead focuses on Stevens mental health☝️🤓"

i think you just didn't see the plot till the end since it was purposely obscured to show that even when just normal life stuff is happening and everything seems great it might not be and that might not be clear to even the person going through the problem that it's ok to not be ok even when everyone seems to say you should be. i do agree with how stupid never seeing ruby's and aquamarine's fusion again sucks that is my least favorite part about the show. also 8:15 this is just his dad's personality where do you think he got the act like everything's ok and don't express how you really feel it is literally shown in the original show that his dad doesn't like to think about the past with his mom and dad so when he gets blamed for being a bad dad like how he felt his parents were he immediately try's to deflect.
