This is very cool. I attended Western Oregon University which has one of the best ASL programs in the country and probably best west of the Mississippi. I was able to learn some from my friends who were in the program, who were mostly from music and theater backgrounds. I learned that when you sign, it's not just what your hands do, you have to show what you are signing in your face and body language as well. It's like a daily performance piece.

So Azora can hear and the other woman is deaf? Their use of language is so different. Azora is translating directly.

I had my phone in my pocket so I thought it was just the song, when I saw it was this instead of the original video I was transfixed. The emotion that I saw with sign took this song to another level

Thank you for sharing your talents! I added to my blog for others to learn ASL from music videos (and Guitar, Ukulele, Piano). I'm trying to add an ASL version to every song I add, but sometimes I have a hard time finding an ASL version. I wish you would consider making more ASL songs like this... You make this this world a beautiful place. nobadtidesmusicalreminders.blogspot.com/2022/06/gotye-somebody-i-used-to-know-asl.html

I started learning in grade school, took sign language class in High school, I have deaf and HH friends. Thank you for these videos it helps me learn more signs.

Love it! Great song and nice story! I will admit that I recognized Terrylene from "Beauty and the Beast" and as the "prom baby's" mom on Veronica Mars. Nice to see you, Terrylene! And I'll be checking out more of Azora's videos, too!
