So was it basically buttermilk olive oil and coconut oil? What kind of lather and hardness and softness does it have?

Well, it is NaCl solution ,not a sodium lactate C3H5NAO3 But good to know that sodium lactate can be substituted by saline in soap manufacturing.😊

I get them almost everywhere! I find a lot a goodwill or resale shops. I have ordered from brambleberry, whole sale supplies plus and amazon. You can sometimes find molds at the dollar stores

Thanks for your video. I made your recipe today but I don’t know what I’ve done wrong but it is a hard block and not pliable like yours. Argh! Is there anything I can do to fix this? I’m sure I followed your instructions but it just isn’t right. Please help

I stopped putting any botanical on my soaps ... i do cold process soaps and trust me every item molds so best not put it
@aliciaarroyo6
@aliciaarroyo6 2 ай бұрын
Yes! I agree. You have less mold issues with cold process soap. Mostly because of the lye, but I have still had issues with it. Melt and pour definitely can see the mold within a few days.

Sorry I uploaded it and it had some issues. KZbin flagged it copyright infringement because of the royalty free background music that I used in many of my videos. They took the sound out.

Thank you. Could you use your recipe to make soap dough sprinkles with an extruder and then use them to decorate bath bombs or bath salts (aka bath dust)?
@aliciaarroyo6
@aliciaarroyo6 2 ай бұрын
Yes! Definitely. I don’t have those tools but I rolled them up into smaller pieces and let them dry out. I just found this a faster easier way to make soap dough without so many steps. It works for me!

?Alicia, if you can comment on your video stating 16.06 oz water, but "chapters" state 10.6 oz water. Is the 6 oz used to soak the clay? Thank you so much for this informative video, and I am wanting to make my first DSC soap.

If its separation was caused by the FO, the only thing I can think of is to cook it out. I would be very careful and do a PH test after. It’s not something I have ever done myself.

Don’t mean to be awful, but why don’t you just add plain salt into your lye water instead of going through the extra work. I Measure my water add salt & sugar to it mix, then add my lye. Save time and trouble. Sodium lactate is so expensive. My soap turns out perfect.

Hi, I live in Las Vegas and I'm looking for someone local who can turn my breast milk into soap or anything else beneficial. I have a lot. I'm on this medication for 2 weeks so I can't give my milk to my baby but I'm pumping like crazy and I don't know what to do with the milk I don't want to waste it I probably have three quarts full and it's just day three I'll be on this medication for another 11 days. Could you recommend a bulk recipe for a moisturizing soap with a little exfoliation for me to use? And another recipe for the baby and a list of everything i need ?
@aliciaarroyo6
@aliciaarroyo6 3 ай бұрын
You can modify this recipe to your needs. I have a few other Breastmilk soap recipes on my channel. Colloidal oatmeal would be a nice exfoliating additive. I would highly recommend adding milk to your bath water or your babies bath water. It’s conditioning to the skin and reduces a lot of blemishes.

I just made my first swirled blue and white soap and it was so pretty. The next day it had these little oozing brown spots all over it that looked oily. I wasn't sure if it was FO or something else. 😢

I’m confused… So colorblocks versus the actual tumeric powder to prevent from sitting at bottom of soap ? Or does it depend on the melting point
@aliciaarroyo6
@aliciaarroyo6 5 ай бұрын
Good question. In my experience melting point has little to do with the large clumps in the soap coloring. It’s more important that all the pigment is fully dispersed. Using color blocks or liquid glycerin makes a huge difference when adding color. I might do a follow up video on this.

Do you ever get holes on the side touching the mold? I tried this and got weird divots/holes in mine for some reason even after chilling for 12hrs!
@aliciaarroyo6
@aliciaarroyo6 6 ай бұрын
My guess is that it cooled to fast. I don’t recall many holes. I also put mine on a tray a well to better support the mold while it cools
